SEM paint products.

Does anyone know a place locally that deals with SEM paints/dyes. I went to the main site but there are like only two places on the website in pittsburgh, and there has to be more places than that. The one is on Penn Ave by the cross street of 8th Ave. Radclife or somthing but I don;t feel like driving down there during business hours just to get paint.

:dunno:

try tooooona auto parts

lloyd’s paint & supply Mckees rocks

Brian what the hell is tooooona, and where is it.

Slow,

do they actually have that stuff there or are you saying they might have it.

irwin

they carry some stuff dont know excactly what you are looking for… if you are looking to paint interior peices. PPG makes a special paint for that…

yeah I;m looking for Paint dye for the interior pieces. Mine is ok, but the problem I have is two things. One Fibergalss would be nice but I would have to do the WHOLE interior otherwise it would look shitty. Some people say sand it down and use automotove paint. I don;t want anythng smooth because it will look out of place. So I’m trying to keep the texture that comes with the original pieces so sanding is a nono…

People have been having good luck with the coloring of vynal with that stuff. If you can recomend somthing else that will be perminate that would be great.

Are you just painting plastic trim pieces?

some yes, but some is soft vynal.

OK, I have never painted soft vinyl, so I cant help you with any tips. But for the plastic and this will be good for the vinyl too. Use a wax and grease remover on those parts because of the grease from your hands and the armor all. It will make the paint adhere and it will eliminate fisheyes, I would do it twice and use glass cleaner then paint them, hope this helps you out

Select Products carries SEM products. Its what I used on my dash. Whatever you do, don;t use the Pep boys shit its really terrible.

there is an auto paint supply store in mcdonald seem to have a lot of stuff there

cool. Thats what I did last time and it worked out good prep wise. I just want somthing that is more durable and has a better look. My stuff is ok, but it needs redone in some places just from being 3 years old.

PPG has paint that will match the factory color and I think you can get it in a aerosol can at lloyd’s for extra… yea just hit it with a scuff pad and wipe them down and spray them. Good luck

NAPA got what you want the paint store in mcdonald got it to … if you shoot down there give me a can i live 5 minutes from them… i need to go there and get a gallon of neon green for the beater … i want yens all to see it going down the track either from you rear view mirror or way in front( the rear view mirror is best way of viewing it )

Well I will check locally first since mcdonald is like an hour away :kekegay:

thanks everyone for the suggestions / locations.

what do you need i am going there tommorrow ? it is closer than you think …

I;m not exactly sure yet. I still ahev to decided. This is somthing I have been researching for a couple days, and now I’m stuck at work till tuesday. If you can just let me know if they carry any kind of interior paint . dye from SEM and what lines that would be cool.
