Sema 2004

Well the trip is finally over, it seems I was gone forever! 1st we went to L.A. from Pittsburgh… last Thursday, we stayed at the Inn at Venice beach. It was a very very nice town / hotel. Thanks to Whitey I was able to do a lot of things… we went to the Viper Room owned by Johnny Depp… which needs remodeling by the way! Basically hung out at the beach / boardwalk. Then it was off to SEMA last Monday night. We got a $29 flight from LA to Vegas!!! Cant beat that with a stick! Vegas was ok… Id rather have stayed in Cali than gone to Vegas believe it or not. SEMA was huge as usuall, I got to meet Boyd Cottington he was a really nice guy… ran into poppa from OCC. Got to personaly meet Chip Foose at the Overhaulin booth (they were doing a live show at SEMA), my dads friend is personal friends with the owner of Year One Industrys which sponceres the show. They needed a place to ship all the parts / equipment to before SEMA, so my dads friend lives in Vegas and they shipped the parts there, so he arranged a meeting before SEMA opened. He was also a really nice guy, my dad asked him to draw a picture of a 69 Camaro and he is going to paint his newest car to match, he agreed. I got about 5 t-shirts autographed from him and he also gave me a Overhaulin crew t-shift.

While in Cali I got to go to SP Engeneering which is a kick ass Supra / Lambo shop, got to meet Ken Henderson from Supraforums, he has a 1072rwhp 6-speed which was there. Got 2 limited t-shirts… was an awsome experience!

They were still doing the D1 drifting this year at SEMA. This year I bullshitted my way into a ride in a brand new R34 Nissan Skyline with a indy car driver as my piolet. That was an experience!!! Ill never find another oppertunity to ride in a blue R34! I also got interviewed by Japaneese TV after the ride about the new Pioneer Systems Manager they had in the car, etc… it was kind of funny.

Also bullshitted my way into the Kicker Big Air Freestyle motocross at the Hard Rock afterparty VIP pass, it was awsome. Got to experience the Ghost Bar at the Palms, got to stand on the famous real world 4x4 glass plate at the Ghost Bar 55 floors up.

All in all I bullshitted my way into a lot of partys / places this trip, it was GREAT!!! We need more people to come next year.

PS- I have over 300 HI-Res pics of Cali + SEMA they are over 900mb so ill burn Whitey 2 CD’s for him to post!

wish I was there… :crying:

sounds like a hell of a time… get those pics asap:D

So in summary, you’re full of a lot of bullshit.

Sounds like a great time!

yeah it was a great time… I just had a way with words I guess… the Skyline was suppost to be for Yokohama & Pioneer employees, etc… but the guy running it and letting people in the cars was a Supraforums member, so that helped out a lil  It was an oppertunity I couldnt pass up, the worst they could have said was “no” and they didnt! The driver was just sick. The Kicker party was just so unorganized the people just gave me 3 passes because I simply just asked them, it was weird. Meeting Chip Foose was because of my dads friend. Still with all the fun I had, I still didnt come close to teh Whitey getting into a Playboy party at the Garden of Eden in Hollywood! The pics are really Hi-res so I have to mail them to Whitey via snail mail… ill just start a new thread once he gets the pics.

mark awesome man…I have seen pics and the dyno of kens car and it is just sick…has he ever run it at the track?

haha… although the party was quite badass, it seems like you had a pretty cool time out there… Even got to hang out at the drums… :sigh: I miss LA

can’t wait to get the pics up for the gallery

sounds like you had a hell of a time bro. Maybe i’ll make it out to a SEMA show with ya one of these years. :bigthumb:

Yeah I mean its not that expensive for what you get to experience. Its $10 to register online if you pre-register and plane tickets were like $210 round trip and hotels can range, you can find them cheap if you look.

:naughty:

that doesnt sound too bad. My #1 priority is to get to Amsterdam some time soon. You are more than welcome to come too. I hear they have some pretty cool coffee shops over that way.

Thats funny you mentioned Amsterdam because I was actually suppost to go this upcomming May, but im not sure if I will have the money to go or not. Flights were somewhere around $450-$550 last time I checked about a month ago, but flights change every hour or so. Its definatly one place I want to be able to say I have been, id fit right in. PM me with the dates if you are serious, my roomate in college went and they backpacked at campgrounds, he says its the only way to see / experience Amsterdam… but who knows. Id like to go for a little longer than a week if possible. If not I am going to Venice for 3-4 weeks this upcomming summer.

I saw the pics, Kick ass!
