New Edit: 11/22/2010 Later on… Forget $280. Forget $220! $180!! The reason: I did tread depth with an actual gauge now. the two front tires are at 3/32" (IE. For winter… they’re not much use anymore.) The other two tires are worn even at at 7/32 & 8/32.
So, for $180 you’ll get 17" wheels that just need a little touchup paint if you even care (they’ll be covered in snow and salt anyways, but look good from afar…) and two tires for winter.
If you have FWD, put the 7/32 & 8/32 tire on the back and buy some new snows for the front…
Now you have a swappable snow wheel set! You Win!
Edit Addition: 11/22/2010 . Forget $280. $220! if you come grab them tonight!
Otherwise out of spite, I’m just going to slash the tires, pour acid on the wheels and put them to the curb! :banghead:
EDITED: 11/20/2010… NOW $280 OBO! Just come take them/steal them… I am sick of the CL drama and nobody showing up. I have given up on getting money for these as everyone wants them for like $100! Seriously?
So, OBO… that means… I’ll take less than $280, but don’t low ball me. I’m already frustrated enough at how cheap these are going for.

THE POST
- The wheels are Sport Edition E1 17X7 / 5X114.3 / Offset 53. Bought at TireRack 3 years ago.
- The tires are Blizzak WS-50, 215/50R17.
- I also have the lug nuts for the wheels, included, of course.
After three people were a no-show on CL… $350 takes em! I need the cash to buy a new set of winter wheels/tires for the new car.
The Blizzak tires look to have enough tread for one more winter, if not more. The tires were great all last year, all the way to the end. The tires have gone through two winters and they don’t seem to wear very much. I remember looking at them after the first winter thinking “wow, they still look brand new”
PICS:
sorry, I had them stacked on top of each other for the pics…

Any more shots of tread depth? penny/quarter shot?
any camber wear?
I will get some more shots for you tomorrow
I’ll get some penny/quarter shots of each tire.
The car was on stock suspension, so there is no uneven wear on any of the tires.
The wheels could use a little bit of reconditioning. They are simply painted wheels, so sanding & repainting would be pretty easy to do. There are scuff and scratch marks, and on one there is a little paint bubbling around the center cap. To me, I didn’t care since they were solely for winter. For someone else, it could be a simple fix of sanding it down, bondo (maybe), paint and clear coat = nice wheels in any color you want. Or, just leave em the way they are for a winter wheel set that’s better looking than any steelie
More pics, as requested…

Due to the paint condition on the wheels, I’m only asking $450 OBO now, rather than $500. I want these gone so I can use the money to buy some new wheels/tires for my new car
So, hopefully the $50 discount will help them be gone quicker.
free bump - to go OT check ur pms
Too expensive, or no interest? Should I toss these up on craigslist?
Bump one last time with a price drop of $400 then they’re going to CL, too.
After three people didn’t show from CL (I hate CL…) I’ll bring them back here again. I’d just like them gone so I can use the cash towards my gulp $1,400 winter wheels/tires for the bimmer.
$350 OBO
Hmmm. Have to check and see what the Evo requires for wheel offset and such.
We can swap a wheel to check fitment around the brakes/suspension/etc. I have a nice jack and a big lug wrench. LOL
Doing a quick search, all Evo 8’s and 9’s are +38 offset.
BUMP… I didn’t repost these on CL again, but I’m going to this week.
$350 OBO
$280 OBO… seriously, am I just giving these away now?
P.S. CL is useless. People have even told me “I’m going to come after work today” only to not even show up.
I give up… someone just take them. OBO = I’ll even take LESS.
OK, Forget $280. How about $220 if you come tonight!
OK, OK… forget $280 and $220. $180… right now…
I borrowed an actual tire depth gauge from my brother
- uneven wear - 2/32
- even wear - 3/32
- even wear - 7/32
- even wear - 8/32
So, two of the tires are at bare minimum for an OK tire. Probably why they were OK all the way til the end of winter last year. I can’t sell these and say “use em” so… want some 17" wheels and two usable snow tires? Good… cause… the price is right I’d imagine…
$180!
::edit:: this is a stupid good price… did u try mazdas247?
Mazdas247 seems too national to want to post there for this. Feel free to post on my behalf if you really want… but, here’s how I feel about these wheels/tires at the moment, in a short description
The Short Description:
These have taken up a month of my life just having them sit here in my kitchen. It’s quite annoying. They don’t play fetch, they don’t cook me food or clean my floor while I’m away. When I talk to them over coffee, they just sit there silently as though uninterested. When I walk into the kitchen after it rains, wearing my wet shoes on the tile, they stare at me with disdain. Just yesterday I cooked them bacon and they refused to eat it! They just sat there with a smug look, staring up at me with the bacon just going to waste on their rubber. For crying out loud, it’s bacon! Every day, I look over at them out of the corner of my eye, waiting for the moment when they look at me wrong. Oh, I can’t wait for that moment where I’ll just lose it and finish them off with a steak knife from the counter. After the dirty deed is done and I clean up the bloody mess, I’d then sneak outside and toss them into the dumpster in the middle of the night. They deserve it, right? I mean… come on… vegetarian tires that don’t like to communicate or clean… they don’t deserve to get a free ride in my kitchen! They’ve gotta go…
Had I known you were eventually going to give these away, I would have sold my 16ers instead of wrappin em in good snow rubber… CRAP. – OT I am getting a protune come spring… love the AP lol…
