What do you guys think about NISMO short shifter? Any good? Any feedback? Which ones are the best ones to use for S13?
If it’s made by C’s which it says it is… ( and it’s a jenuine NISMO ) then it’s a damn good product. it’s the best out there for the RX7 FC anyways…Since C’s, as a seperate company, is not longer in business, it would be wise to get one where you see it …
The following reviews/info may help your decision, if indeed this is what you’re looking at:

Hopefully this applies/helps.
the REAL nismo short shifter for the S13 is not a true short shifter. it hardly reduces the throws. what it does is remove the rubber insert out of the stock rod and SLIGHTLY shorten the throws. the result is a firmer shifter that is basically the same but slightly shorter than stock. they are not worth the money. the NISMO shifter is still avliable and is easy to get.
if you want a short shifter and are on a NISMO budget look for a C’s (very hard to find not made anymore) or a B&M or a OBX with a Tanabe solid shifter bushing which i am running. (its the same as b&m maybe even more percise)
Wrong…
The Nismo shifter reduces throw around 35%, which is considerable on a good tranny. You dont hit the gates like a B&M, reverse, and 5th are as easy to go into as with a stock shifter, and it minimizes throw effort.
The solid shifter bushing can be applied to any short shifter you buy.
If you have preferences as to reliability and functionality on shifting, the Nismo is worth the money.
Just like the C’s it has a anti-shock core, except with a slightly lesser throw reduction for the purposes of reducing mis-shifts…
It indeed is a true short shifter…
i had a nismo short shifter on my car for 1 week it was a overpriced pos that was glorified by nismo. it was quickly sold. and no the shifts are slightly shorter than stock hardly a noticeable difference at all. how do you miss shifts on a obx or b&m i have never missed one in my life on my obx.
I disagree…
It’s a quality piece, with very stock feeling characteristics while dealing with all the downsides of a stock unit while decreasing throw…
Either way, if you are buying new, go C’s, they’re the pioneers anyways…
Thanks, I guess I won’t be buying NISMO shifter after all.

Is this real nismo short shifter? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7967087463&category=33736
Also, is this price well worth the buy?
That’s a fake…
That ebay seller should be shoot dead. Thanks.
No problem
yeah you really NEED to watch the ’ NISMO’ copy cats on Ebay. good way to tell is price… a new C’s is worth ~$280+ usd, ( stands to reason that a Nismo branded C’s shifter would be similar) the used ones should be in the $180 to $200 range maybe a bit less if your lucky. A nismo under $100 usd is just screaming ’ fake ass ’ all over it… you SHOULD report these people to Ebay… I’ve reported like 5 companies already on ebay mostly turbo sellers that were trying to sell one product as a totally different one. the ad’s DO get removed and a warning issued to the seller.
I have the C’s short shifter for the FC3S and it’s IS shorter in lenght by a bit but the main difference is the dampening core, the counter weighted body and the build up mounting point for the difference in the lever new point from the old.
Thanks everyone. I will stick to Megan Racing short shifter.
There are two differnt Nismo shifters. One is called “Solid Shift” like the one DTS described. The other is called “Quick Shift” like TM described. I’m not sure if the “Quick Shift” is availiable anymore though.
I’ve driven most of the short shifters available for our cars (B&M, OBX, Megan, Tomei etc.) and I have to say go with the cheapest option. If you get a new bushing for the bottom of the shifter you will be hard pressed to notice any huge performance difference between the various options. Bing’s B&M knock off seems like one of the better options.
that nismo shifter is just a rebadged version of the OBX / Megan one.
i can get it unbadged as well but prefer not to, more than happy with the B&M copy i have now.
