people pay $30k for old GTOs and maros
It’s amazing what something is worth when you’re spending someone else’s money.
Strangely enough, none of the people who are saying “buy it, it’s so cool” are bidding on it though.
To put it another way. Would I like that car in my garage? Sure. Bet it’s fun as hell, especially on a track or autocross. Would I pay that much for it using my own money? No way.

Very different though. Most of those people are buying them as investments, or because they have more money than brains. A heavily modded Toyota is not going to appreciate in value even if you bought it today and stuck it in a bubble.
To each his own, I’m done with this thread. He asked for opinions, not a debate. Some people would buy it, some wouldn’t.

it may appreciate a little more, but it wont appreciate as much as muscle cars do… you have to remember the market for the muscle cars is full of old guys with 401k’s and 2nd mortgages etc (ie alot of free money) where as this market is mainly composed of 20 something 30k a year millionares for the most part

Maybe, and I might be assuming wrong that he’s planning on driving it. I do know this, cars that you drive don’t appreciate and I seriously doubt he’s buying this with the intent to stick it under a cover and hope Japanese imports do what muscles cars have in future auctions. And even if they do, more than likely it will be mint condition STOCK ones that will be worth something, not ones with barely any original parts.
sick car… $8k is market price but it would be a bit much for me too.

guess what i can put together a 800whp supra for less than 10k, but it’s going to be flood damaged with an engine i stole from mvp motorsports and blown turbos i found in some jdm heaven junkyard.

to answer some Q’s…
1.) eleventy billion times hotter than an M3 and eleventy billion people dont have them
2.)buying this @8K$will give me a lot of engine/drivetrain options to play with(including boosted 2JZ)
3.)for 8K$ this car is completely almost frame-off restored with mostly original parts and has also been finished off with THE BEST PARTS that can be put into a 4AG 'rolla and finally
4.) the Hachi is one of the greatest “driver’s” car ever built. it is 1 of the most desirable/sought after(including being in this good of condition) JDM cars in Japan.
and this car will be nasty with 4-500+@the wheels.
