Holy shit yours better move like that
sounds sooooooo ill
boxersix should be in here any minute
If only to have seen those cars run in person at full bore
The IMSA GTO 90’s are my fav but even the 200’s were just nasty nasty cars.
I found it slightly surprising that the 200 was a 10v. Class limitation maybe?
I don’t really remember what the rules were back then for TA other than minimum homologation of like 1000 chassis or something, and I think that they had to run the engine that the car came with from the factory at that time. I don’t think the 20V came in the 200 until '89, could be wrong though???
I watched more Can Am than Trans Am. TA was mostly just old shit v8 cars that didn’t interest me. That 200 was the first AWD vehicle to run in the series.
I know the 91’ 200 was the first and only year of the 200 20v however is was produced in 90’ (well mine was anyway). Makes sense that they would have to keep the original engine to the car…not that there is anything wrong with the 10v.
I so wish I could have seen people racing a 200 in person! I was watching a bunch of old IMSA and TA clips last night and I believe on top of Audi being the only AWD they were also the only sedans.
I love vintage racing footage! IMSA and GTP/G-C.
Lack of sedans…Irony at it’s best because the series used to be called Trans Am Sedan or something like that.
