For the life of me, I cant figure out how to resize a pic and have it look right. I set the pixels to the forum rules and it ruins the pic. I have tried searching for sig tutorials but nothing has helped. Its probably simple as hell but Im missing it. Helppppppppppppppppppppp:noes:

So go to Image>Image size and then adjust the pixel size of the height or width, and it will automatically keep the original aspect ratio. then just make sure it’s smaller than 500x100.
For one you need to think about how wide and short a sig is when selecting your picture, or better yet, when taking your picture. It’s tough to take an image with an aspect ratio of 800x600 that is stuffed full of your car and turn it into a 500x100 pixel image.
In the example of mine above I wanted it to be wider but the picture I was working with didn’t have a wider angle to crop to.
To make a better sig I should have stepped back about 20 feet and moved more to the left to take another photo. Then when I went 500 wide and 100 high I wouldn’t be cutting off the top or bottom of a car. Lacking an image to work with that had the extra real estate to the left and right the only answer was to go less than 500 wide.
Geoff’s is the perfect example of getting it right. Tons of image to the left and right of the car to work with. When take a shot of your car you want to use for a sig don’t think rule of 3rds… more like rule of 16ths. The car should be pretty small with lots of background to work with when cropping.
I will remember that next time Jay. I was thinking that next time I take some pics, I should think about distance and if I will be using it as a sig or not. I was trying to take a regular close up pic and cram it into a 500x100 pixel space. I will continue to play around with it. Thanks Guys
Yep always shoot larger, preferably with a tripod. I like moto’s it’s simple, the colors from the naval park work well with the bike, font is very basic. Looks nice
The problem with moto’s is half his bike is cut off, which happens when you take a picture that was shot using the rule of 1/3rds and try to make it 500x100.
