Anyone know any places with good prices on skateboards? My older daughter wants to buy a better one. I’ve been doing some reading on the internet about the trucks, bearings, wheels, etc. Should I even bother looking locally?
Shady Skates in shadyside… Dunno about prices though, havent been into that stuff for years
there is a place called sluggers right here in belle vernon.its on broad ave right near the eilers how ever u spell it
My buddy Own’s Triad skateboards
HAHA, THAT USE TO BE UNDER THE OLD C3 BANNER…
yeah
the place in shadyside is decent
i think the Vans store in the Mall @ robinson sells boards too…but not sure of the quality. I just remember seeing them when i walked by
head board on the south side is the best bet local…CSE and CSS are the best bet online…
edit: don’t expect to pay anyless than 100 bucks for a decent complete(board, trucks, wheels, Bearings, hardware)
i forgot about that place…they are decent too.
theres a place in ross park mall too… by media play
She’s been looking at CSS, and is ready to spend ~$140 of her allowance money. Wow, I don’t remember her doing $140 worth of filling and emptying the dishwasher! She does watch her little sister though, and that ain’t always easy.
I can remember piecing together my dream BMX bike at her age. Memories…
hey jeff i have a skaye board from the 80’s iam looking for somethign just to take it if you want it can give it too you it’s free. you just have to drill holes or use the holes in the board and put trucks on it. message me if you want it.
I don’t think he wants a boat
it’s not a boat it’s a nice little 1. orange and black.
Thanks, but I already have too much stuff laying around the basement.
I used to have one of those skinny ones (70’s?) when I was a kid. I remember riding it down the top part of Nichols Hill. It was like a car with a bad alignment - the whole thing started to shake when you got going real fast.
ive got a LIB tech deck w/new titan tilites, red china bones bearings, and a set of chad muska ghetto child wheels (or something like that). i love LIB tech decks, theyve got a lot of pop. deck was used for ~2 months every other weekend, trucks were put on just before i stopped skating and i donte ven thinkt hey have any marks from grinding on em, wheels are old but still work, no flatspots or anything. bearings have ~2 months use. throw me an offer if youd like, i never skate anymore so its just taking up my trunk space
i have a few decks … i can donate an old one for her jeff! lemme dig some out
boards will still speed wobble. you have to tighten the bushing down on the trucks to kind of combat it
x2, cant remember what i paid for a skateboard years ago, but it was in the 100+ range.
Does she have a skateboard now?
Yeah, it’s a no name brand. She really doesn’t need a good one but she has it in her head that she NEEDS it. We told her not until she was good, so she practiced and learned to do a kick flip and an ollie.
I of course had to try it (on carpet).
