Looking for some feedback from the people who have rolled on the street on slicks and skinnies. Mainly wondering how bad stopping and turning is at speed. Ie death at a sweeper at xyz speed you will die unless you have a zip code to stop hitting the brakes at triple digits and you best not do more than gently tap the brake pedal etc.
Thanks :tspry:
no gym for home
I have to crawl on sharp turns such as on/off ramps
I knew somebody who had skinnies on his mustang, he had to stop fast and ended up rear ending someone. He said it would not have happened if he had regular tires up front.
I had mickey thompson et drags and they were horrible to drive on the street expecially when going faster on zee highway
there is no turning with slicks. At high speeds it will sway from side to side. Sooo, unless your just cruisin around town its not a good idea.
Seriously man you are fucking WEIRD.
^ lol bitches aint shit
So the consensus is yes you will die dont do it? I am more concerned about the skinnies in the front than the slicks in the back…
lol, you should be more concerned with the slicks out back fwd boy.
^ he drives an s2k now

edit… where the hell did toda’s post go!!!
The rear tires are more of a concern than anything. I run skinnies up front, and Hoosier DOT Drags in back. The front tires turn with ease, and actually make the car a little more cushioned on the street, because they aren’t pulling to the side like a 275/40/17 will when the crown of the road is steep. With big tires up front, it seems as though I was always fighting the wheel a bit whenever the road wasn’t real smooth. The rear tires are just plain dangerous unless the roads are dry. As for stopping, they seem normal to me, although I haven’t ever had to make a panic stop, so I really couldn’t tell you on that.

i think someone deleted it deleted it
did i miss something? Must not have been good if it got deleted quick.:spank:
ehh i wouldnt risk it… just get a cheap set of rims and tires or if you have them how long can it take to change sets ? 15 mins?
i mis-read ur post. i just mentioned smith drives a stook now.
either that, or i was right, and u dont know smith drives a stook now?
tail end is loose with the soft sidewalls…the biggest problem is a panic stop the skinnies just dont have enough contact to the road…also got pulled over twice in a week
I daily drove my car on MT DRs with MT et skinnies and it was fine. I never had any problems slowing down but also didnt push my luck. I never really tried to turn fast. But for street use DRs over slicks all day long!
Run MT drag radials and not a full slick and you will be fine…You run into issues with a real soft sidewall with slicks.
