Sobo's CRX Log

I run on arnold palmer half and half. Good progress.

nice sobo…but just think if you would of kept the formula and sprayed it :frowning:

If I kept the formula and sprayed it it still wouldn’t be as fast. Probably less reliable since my formula was a 98 with the weak bolts and on top of that not as cheap to get parts for.

Who wants a formula when they got this…

I would kill for a formula WS6 with leather, heads cam intake and spray over this.

Car looks familiar.

It should it’s been the the new york speed family for some time haha.

trade jt

Lol.

His car’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to nice for that to even be thought about.

dont listen to jim, he’s a homo :). keep it up its looking good

Haha thanks steve. I ended up picking up a 5mm hubcentric spacer, and extended ARP wheel studs!

More progress today.

10.3" Rotors, More grinding, SS brake lines and final Mock up
Original 9" Rotor compared to the new 10.3"

Caliper bracket clears the new rotor great

Had to grind down part of the brake pad in order to clear the new rotor hat:

All together, clears everything fine after a little modification to a sharp edge on the inside of the caliper:

Thanks for looking!

i think thats the first time ive seen a caliper meant for an 11" rotor on a 10" rotor, let us know how it works out for ya

You’re not to fluent with the EF portion of the honda-tech forums then.

I’m not exactly a pioneer.

you wont regret the SS lines. they make it feel like your foot is connected to the caliper.

It’s not that crazy.

Most calipers can fit a wide range of rotor diameters. The wilwood calipers I have on my BMW accommodate rotors from 11" to 13".

Beast mode.

i realize that, but most people try to fit the biggest rotor they can so that way they can get the best performance out of them, hence why i said not on an 11" rotor that its intended for and the only rotor ive seen people use

btw i dont frequent the ef forum, but what i do remember is that you can basically bolt up the ef 4door ex hubs right to the crx and have better braking for <$150

I’m running a 10.3" Rotor because I want to be able to fit 14" wheels and slicks on the front of my car. I don’t need a pussy set of cheap brakes, I don’t need 11" drilled and slotted rotors for autocrossing. I needed a brake setup that could be amply durable for brake boosting, and stopping from high speeds once in a while.

I could have spent $150 on brakes, but then I’d have $150 brakes that suck. Sure, the EX swap is better than stock but my car runs 440hp at the wheels on pump, this car needs all the brakes it can get.

Lol snky snky. With a dsm sidemount.
