It was done with JB weld or some shit. I guess it was a pain in the ass Matt told me. Anyways, after the fact when I looked over the roof molding everything about it looked extremely straight, nothing strange at all. Matt did an excellent job.
I just started tearing the interior apart… It’s worse than I thought and this is going to be quite the adventure. I stripped the “Leather” off all the trim pieces and I’m gonna power wash them to bare plastic and plasti-dip them black or do something very durable.
On the upside, I think the shag carpet is over laying the original carpet <3.
It’s turning out great. I’m checking twice and cutting once with everything. I want this to be top notch when I’m done so that way I can get full value for this thing.
Well, I learned my lesson the last time I did a project like this. I’m not saying what I payed for the car, I’m not going to point out and real cash values for anything other than the work I’m doing. Therefore, I get protected from people saying “Didn’t you pay XXXXX for this?” when the time comes to sell it.
I sold $3000 in after-market parts off the car so far, and the paint job (OEM Mazda paint, labor and other supplies) set me back only $2000.
Knowing the kid who owned this, he could barely drive. It’s not exactly beat on persay. He just wished he was a show car master and it turned out his car didn’t come out the way he wanted.
I know for a fact the only problem with it is that the transfer case is beginning to leak a tiny bit. LUCKILY, the car is under FACTORY warranty for another year and 20k miles! Besides, this is a common problem with all MS6 cars and i’m pretty sure its a TSB.
Thank you man, every bit of support I get really keeps me going.
