Glad to see it. How bad was that matte finish? In the pics it doesn’t look too good…

The matte finish was garbage. Orange peel so bad it looked like a leather couch.

My painter, who is one this forum, did an amazing job. Absolutely top notch and the price was right.

OEM paint, beautiful quality and no flaws. Worth every penny.

Pictures do not do any justice to how beautiful the car is. When it get it home tomorrow I’m sure it will look great in pictures with a better camera.

Who did the paint if you don’t mind posting it?

I am going to be completely honest, I have no idea.

He owned a wicked white evo recently, owns numerous samuri’s and has a DSM with a built 6 bolt.

First name is Matt. He goes to some Ohio technical college for auto stuff, he was absolutely great.

talontsixxxxx

nice job sobo, i saw this car before u had it, def looked like poopoo, and he BOVd at me while was driving evolution viii MR’s evo… he’s lucky yo! lol

Still has a little while to go.

I gotta finish the rear suspension up, fix the head lights, and the interior is… well… bad too.

It’ll all be OEM though, nothing puts a smile on my face like quality.

pretty good…huge improvement

Wow that thing was fugly

Tell me about it.

I think i did the world a favor. Not even talking about the numerous Mazda owner’s reputations I just saved by taking a GTO-Fro type car off the road.

looks great, wa sit a pain in the ass to remove the bumpers because it looks like they were molded to the car?

I guess so.

What you guys are really missing out on is that the ROOF was molded too. Very poorly at that.

I give mad props to Matt, he did an excellent job for the budget I gave him. I got a but load of body work, OEM paint and supplies and an excellent quality paint job for the price I payed.

Highly recommended! If anyone wants his number shoot me a PM i’m sure he’d be glad to have a little work.

Looks a million times better.

Matt is an awesome dude, glad to hear you like the work he did, I think he’ll be my paint guy when I need it in the future.

wow, just saw that the roof molding was shaved too, that must of been a pain to get all of that correct

props to him, great work

Looks 100% better, not even done. That thing looked like death over the summer. But a thumbs up to you, for bringing it back to what it should look like. Great job.

i met the first owner of when it was matte… was the roof moulding welded or was it just filled with body filler? cause the kid told us that it was welded together not done poorly with body filler

Looking good. Gimme dat shag carpet!

I love this car already. Will def stay tuned to see what kind of progress you make with this car.

when all is said and done what do you think your total investment into this will be?

car? paint? OEM parts? etc etc…

these projects always seem to be wayyyy too much work not to mention if the previous owner treated it that poorly… how long before you see mechanical issues?

A+ Car looks great back to OEM color! Good luck with your build!
