EDIT: THE CAR IS SOLD.
Hey all,
It’s time for me to sell my s13. It just isn’t going to fit into my plans any more, and I won’t have time to drift it this summer, so I want someone to take it off my hands and appreciate it for what it is.
Details:
KA24E SOHC motor (As far as I know)
293,545 KM on chassis
5 speed
Pop-up Sunroof
ABS (Works)
Cruise control (Works)
Engine has new synthetic oil (less than 10 KM on it)
Transmission/Diff have new synthetic gear oil (less than 10KM on it)
CAR IS SOLD.
The Good:
- The Engine runs like brand new. It’s very quiet at idle and feels very strong. The shell seems to be in pretty decent shape.
- The transmission and clutch seem very good, except for a grind in second gear. Clutch engages quickly and without slipping.
- Car feels quite solid going down the road, should have no problem driving anywhere.
The Bad:
-The transmission has a grind going into second gear. Once it is in gear, it’s fine, but when it first goes in it just grinds a tiny bit.
-The driver’s side needs a power window motor, it has a good used regulator and window mounted, now it just needs the actual motor itself to hold the window up.
-The interior is stripped behind the driver’s seat, but I can get the stock parts back if the buyer would like them.
-The buyer would have to bring rims/tires to pick the car up - the rear tires are more or less totally bald.
-The battery is a little weak, but the car runs very well when boosted. The car will easily restart as long as it doesn’t sit too long (ie, not overnight).
-The hood is off the car, which is why you see it off to the side in the pictures. The buyer will need to grab a set of new hood hinges to mount it on the car.
Overall I think this would be a very good project car for someone with some time to fix it up. It would be best used as a drift bitch for someone who already has a daily driver. Or, if someone was rebuilding a car, there are still a lot of good parts on this car that you can use.
Pictures:
I’d want this car…except I’m not so handy yet with body work or engine work…but i guess I have time to learn, amd this would be a godo cheap start
So it runs? How much KM’s on the engine, and why would the person need new rims?
I am slightly interested in the car, i’d need to discuss with my dad though hehe
Cheap start yes!
All the basics are there - the engine runs very well (probably the best part of this car), the transmission works despite the little grind. The car is totally driveable despite it’s appearance. :E
Now, I’m not sure if the motor has been swapped or not or what the kilometers on the engine actually are. I would guess that it isn’t the original engine, because it runs far too well to have 300K on it. I bought it from Scott (Hot_Wheelz) on here, so I’m not sure if he can chime in with a little more detail on it.
Now, you don’t need new rims for it, just bring a spare set with some decent tires to get it home. The rims themselves are fine, it’s just the rear tires that are shot.
As far as the body work goes - I really can’t say how much work it would take to fix it up, because I’m not good with body work myself. If you’re interested, I’d ask you to come see it in person (I live in Stony Plain) so you know exactly what you’re getting.
I’m tempted to buy this for a beater… but my insurance company needs a safety done and well… damn. Bump for a sick drift-mobile!
It might well pass, dude. I have no idea whether it would or not, I’m not a mechanic.
That said, if you can figure some place to get an inspection done on it, I’m more than willing to help you try!
Hum…stony plain? arg that might be difficult to get out there considering I don’t have any wheels now haha.
are the rear wheels completly shot? or still driveable and holding air?
If they are bare and still hold air that’s good enough for me.
Would there be anyway of you being able to get it down to calgary?
Hey man.
The rear tires have no tread left. One of them has a very slow leak that takes about a week for it to go flat. When I say driveable, I mean that I wouldn’t want to take it more than a few klicks on those tires, but that’s me.
The rest of the car is perfectly driveable in whatever sense you want to interpret that.
As far as getting it down to Calgary, because I don’t have it on my insurance, I can’t actually drive it anywhere. I could assist you with shipping it if you want, but that would probably cost about at least $150.
Where are you right now - if it would help, I’m sure we could arrange something…
Hey, check your PM. I will take the car ASAP!
now if I could get my ass to Edmonton somehow I’d take it…but then I need some tires and then drive it or tow it back…anyways, pmed you about it.
GL with the sale though, very good price!
Do you know if there is any frame rust?
I say if you can’t sell it, part it out! But it looks like you’ll have no problem selling it…
The frame itself seems to be mostly rust-free. There is no significant rust damage that I can see on it at all. The body is not great, but I think it can be worked on if someone wanted some practice doing it themselves.
OK, THERE IS A DEAL PENDING ON THE CAR.
Thanks everyone for your interest - wow, I never expected to get so much interest in this car. If the deal falls through, I will let everyone know.
what happened to all the “sponsorships” we had for the car. haha
The offers for sponsorship would probably still be valid, but unfortunately the race car idea was dropped. Perhaps in the future the NECC CAN run a race team - that would be sweet!
what sponers were for this car?
We had sponsorship offers from Fullblown for sure, and ther others I can’t remember. Fullblown was going to give us kick ass deals on parts and let us use their garage facilities, from what I remember.
Oh well, we’ll see about a race car in the future I guess.
Haha hope your deal falls through
