The gallery is up! Didn’t get as many as I wanted before I lost the batteries but I managed to get 100+ shots off on Saturday between duties.

My biggest problem was for most of these shots I was standing on the outside of a corner. And not all of these guys take the “racing line” so you’d have the zoom set for a car near the apex and instead the would be kissing the hay bales right in front of you, like this guy. I should have just zoomed right in on his face.

But I got some good money shots out of the deal. I think my best was this red Lotus I caught mid drift.

For the record, this guy is VSCCA’s official magazine photographer. Heck of a nice guy. He doesn’t have time to change lenses in the field, not to mention keeping dirt out. So he just has a camera for each one.

very cool pictures. I went up their on Saturday. Nice car show and was fun watching the qualifying races

this guy is serious about taking pics…I just couldn’t even think about spending a day with all that around my neck/shoulders. I’m assuming he carries a bag, too.

Well his son was helping him this year, but even his son was carrying like 1 or 2 cameras. Whats really funny is the whole time we are sitting there chatting, he’ll stop mid conversation and snap a car as it drives by, then pick up right where he left off haha. Most years he actually races a older Porsche, he skipped this year just to take more photos. But you would see his Porsche all over Schenely during race weekend, he would show up at various stations to take pictures then he would be off again. His gallery should be up in a few days I’ll post it here, definitely worth checking out.

cool, i did their website about 3 years ago… loved working on that site cause of all the cool car pics
