Some vindication

Comment made about my car in the Car and Driver May 06 “Cheap Skates” comparo:

“Acceptably good at everything, superb at nothing.”

Not too bad, I guess. It was put up against the Dodge Caliber, Honda Fit, Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, Nissan Versa, and Toyota Yaris. It took home:

Most torque (131@4000)
Fastest 0-30 (2.7)
Fastest 0-60 (8.7)
Fastest 30-50 (10.3)
Fastest 50-70 (10.9)
Second best 1/4-mile (16.9@81, edged out by the Honda)
Best skidpad (.80g)
Lowest price as tested ($13,879)
Largest front and rear interior volumes (tied)

It would be misleading if I didn’t post that they ranked it dead last, and that its braking was tied with the Dodge for worst in the comparison, but actually seeing my car in a magazine for once blew my fucking mind.

I saw you getting into the big red machine out in front of Alioto’s (sp?) in Etna last week.

…please continue trying to justify your poor descision to purschase a not-so-econobox when all you really want it a running crx.

Congrats. Your car finished last in the car special olympics. Thats some real vindication.

as long as it gets those calzones to aspinwall Im happy.
