i dont know what they are doing … so dont ask …
looks like a 911 from the 70’s. not a 944 or 928 (can tell by the shape of the back window and the placement of the B & C pillars)
other than that, I don’t know what to say.
It is obviously a 911 but not that old.
I don’t know if it is the angle of the picture or what but the profile looks f’ed up.
im thinking the plastic pieces ins the front wheel well make it newer, and its got the wrong flare on teh rear wheel opening for a 75 or even an 89 911 (the 2 years i quickly googled)
the car also uses a one piece door glass, no vent window, and the mirror mounts on the glass extension, not the door panel
nope, its not the angle of the pic
notice the bare metal , they shotened the car, and then changed the door and 1/4 panel so they fit again
Based on color and rear bumper I would say early 90s, many older cars have been updated though.
Judging by the color (Arena Red) and the shape of the doors and 1/4 panel I’d go with a 996 (99-05) 911. Why they shortened it, I dont know, possibly someone trying to get the more tail happy sensations from the air cooled 911s in their 996. I’m 99% sure it’s a 996, but I’d like to see more pics and know WTF they are doing.
I stand corrected.
my guess on why they’re shortening it is to meet some sort of race regulations (to get into a smaller class, perhaps?)
-or-
just to be different from all the other schmucks that drive a porsche. :roll2: j/k to the porsche drivers on here.
yea, thats what i figured after a whole load of searching for porsche pics
no idea why they are shortening it, lol
the verrrrrry back looks sorta 928ish?
^^ like totally like oh my god!
hmm…k. you can’t even really see the very back anyway. whatever. I’m punching out of this one.
i was just making fun of the “not even” comment.
just foolin around nuKKKa
Wthout a doubt that’s a 911, prob. mid 90’s.
its the 911 996, its the only one that has the mirror that mounts glass-level, instead of on the door skin
looks like they are prepping it for racetrack…the doors look like they are welded
nope, just ground down so they could do the fittment work, possibly to tack weld the panels in place to hold them during welding
its easiest to get the proper gaps on this sort of project if you wedge the caps, then tackweld them to hold them perfect
The legendary Audi S1 QUATTRO was a shortened version of the SPORT QUATTRO.
You may recall it was nicknamed “Shorty”.(If you are old enough)
Maybe it is a Carrera 4 and they are building a rally car with a short wheel base.
ROFL!
weird “chop”, where’d you find that?
