Thanks for trying…

That sucks. I’m thinkin bout buying it for 1200… if I can. I talked the guy down from 1800… comes with an MP3 player and relatively new tires/brakes. Engine is super clean…

Consumer Rated Condition: Good
“Good” condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history , the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A “good” vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.

Private Party Value Search Local Listings | List This Car for Sale $1,710
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold “As Is” and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle’s actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

Z > LC…

Thanks Z… mind running it again for FAIR condition? :stuck_out_tongue:

Also anyone know what model the 2.4DOHC is?

that will make a nice winter beater.

on kbb for a 97 breeze it only gave me a sedan with a 2.0L

Well, it’s the best engine you could get that year in the Breeze (I don’t think they even offered that POS 2.5 mitsubishi V6 in it, it wasn’t much faster anyway. However, there is somebody that swapped in a 3.0 DOHC 5 speed into a Cirrus…). Good engine other than the head gaskets being a bit prone to leaking. You could, if you really wanted to, swap in a 5 speed without too many problems. My mom has at zero problems with her Stratus 2.4 (other than the head gasket). Well, and the a/c likes to leak.

I’m not completely sure if they offered the 2.4 in '97, or if that came about in '98. Kind of weird.

They do handle fairly well for family sedans. double a-arms front and back, but with the huge tires they put on them it kind of ruined it. And the ride is nothing short of “harsh.” The steering is fairly heavy, but still accurate. They are a step above the Neon, that’s for sure (and despite common believe, they don’t share many parts at all).

Anyway, my mom is looking to sell hers this winter.

yeah… I’m pretty sure it was a 97… and I know for sure it was DOHC… and I thought it was a 2.4L.

I will be seeing it again in a little while…

Should make a decent beater. I sold my Lumina today… had a monster 3.1L and by monster I mean I was beating V6 F-bods…:snky:

“The 2.4-liter engine was added in the mid-1997 model year” a small quote I got from Google. Hopefully thats what I got. That’d be nice.

Oh. They like to break tie rods too, but this is common with many cars here in NY where the roads are less than…desirable. Easy to fix, at least.

no 2.4 in breeze in 97

EHHHH

WRONG.

I double checked… cause I drove it last night.

2.4L DOHC in a 97 Breeze.
Made a clicking noise when I tapped the gas from a slow roll, not sure what it was, but I turned down the deal.

1200 bux wasn’t bad, but I don’t want a winter car with problems, I already have a summer car with those…

buy a honda.

find me one with balls that I can use in the winter.

any accord 2.2 would walk a 2.4 breeze

sweet. thanks for the advice.
VTEC? or the no?
know of one in decent shape with AC?

what do you need ac in a winter beater for??

Because I drive a VR4 in the summer… which means my winter beater becomes an all season back-up car.

BTW - After driving the 2.4 it still didn’t have any balls. I need some TQ… like my 3.1 had.

No, it wouldn’t. Sorry. The Breeze is slow, the Accord is slower. The Accord feels faster, mainly because the engine gets very loud above 4k rpm and the 2.4 from Chrysler just kind of hums along.
