sport compact night at PRP

Haha yea sorry bout that Dan. When I got there you weren’t near your car, I was talking to some people I knew and I looked over and you had already pulled forward in the staging lanes, probaly not a great time for introductions. I’ll catch you one of these times, those damn tires stick out like sore thumbs.

i forgot this event was this weekend. damm.

man, its like only a couple years ago people thought 12’s in an import were like :eek3: :eek3: :eek3:

now, if you arn’t past 12’s, your slow and ghey :frowning:

Actually, he was on slicks as far as I know.

He’s done 10.8x on street tires, and is shooting for 9’s on pump gas.

no they were street tires but dude driving needs more seat time and learn to cut better lights. eric crushed him on the tree when they ran

Actually he broke the right rear axle first pass. He was going for a 9.xx and just sat at the tree waiting for the time to be right. Remember qualifications don’t factor in the tree reaction. Then after the broken axle he was just like, fuggit how much more can I hurt it. He tried running it the rest of the night, at one point getting all sideways at half track trying to feed the power in on 3 wheels. That was the car to beat that night, but he broke and so did that RWD 4g63 powered conquest.

dan one of these day’s i’ll meet you too lol

yeah but eric got him in elims. the car is sick for sure. it will be the car to beat in the future I think.

as for the conquest. I don’t think I have ever seen it make a full power pass in my life. after as many track clean ups as that car has made the driver should have to pay for the clean up material

or the blue one :eek3:

Well the problem with fast cars is they always seem to be breaking. You have to make at least 1 qualifing pass, probably 2. Then run 4 rounds of eliminations. Thats where the ITR’s, the neon, and I got lucky. We were all quick enough, but most important not over stressing parts because we had well thought out cars and lasted the whole night without incident. We didn’t have to drive the car around mechanical issues, we just drove the track. I don’t know about you guys but I was ready for more racing had I not ran out of gas (which is what happened in semifinals looking at my logs). I drove it to pburgh, beat on it over their. Then beat on it coming back to altoona (actually tyrone) sunday.

The black 2g broke the drivers side axle last time out but did manage a 10.80 before that happened. I can remember curt browns 1g, it was quick but he usually took himself out of the race before the finals. His evo is doing well so far so if he shows up it’d be trouble. That RWD conquest did make 3 passes at norwalk last year, but it was dripping a little bit of oil or something that david buschur threatened him about. It’ll be interesing the next one, its in august sometime correct?

I’ll take your word for it, as I wasn’t there. This is all stuff I’ve heard here and there. I do know that he has a set of QTP’s ready to go (which, I guess technically aren’t a slick, but still.)

Honestly, I doubt the car has 9’s in it any time soon. With the turbo he is running (FP 3052,) it’ll take the perfect driver in the perfect conditions to barely click a 9.xx pass.

But hey, I’ve been wrong before, and I’d love to see a DSM run 9’s on pump.

3052 and 650hp? the 3065 doesn’t even support that is he on nitrous?

No one knows.

He’s claiming the car is making “way more power” than the car’s previous 521awhp session on Slowboy’s DynaPak, and it’s supposedly lighter as well.

His stuff doesn’t make any sense. 521awhp on pump I can see, but Dre did it years ago with crap timing, a giant hotside, etc. This guy is running 32PSI and 23* timing advance with “minimal knock.” How can they possibly be spraying on top of that?

You should see how much lighter the car is kurt. He ran a 10.80 at 126 600#'s heaver than he is now. QTP’s from what i’ve heard are on the way so, I dunno, whats the big deal? Sure its not going to be easy, but nate and his friend are very persistent and having fun. That is a pretty good combination, to be having fun. Dangerous things happen then

Oh ya, remember Curt Brown? His 9 second 1g only made about approximatley 450whp without nitrous.

600 pounds heavier? From what?

And wasn’t Curt’s 1G a tin can?

Dre also fudged his numbers using uncorrected scales and on a dynojet as I believe but could be wrong. The Nabr crew had a field day with his 503whp or whatever it was. Plus its not the HP as the supra gang has taught us, but how its applied. I’m not trying to stand up for the guy, but for pitys sake it did run a 10.80. Give her some tires, some cool air, and 600 pounds lighter and it makes you think.

Curts 1g was/is an illegal tin can yes. But did you see that 2g in person. Their is a reason they had to bring the toter to the track LOL.

I have nothing against Andy. What him and Nate are doing is great, and I hope they hit 9’s.

However, as I said, 10.80 at 128.xx isn’t going to cut a 9-second pass on QTP’s.

How did they get another 600 pounds out of the car?

I’m not sure. All I know is that nate called me one night all excited and filled me in on some of the details. They had the motor/tranny out of it. It was pretty stripped so that they could send the shell off to the chassis guy for a cage. Not sure if they cut things out or not but probably did knowing nate. Nope, don’t need that. Then they were retuning it before bringing it to the track and he was pleased with the power it makes.

I just don’t think 9 second pump gas passes on a dsm is unthinkable anymore. 500whp is enough to be honest. Curt Brown showed us that. Now the 2g is a bit heavier, so we shall see.

I guess I’m always rooting for the underdogs. For the guys who are out to do something everybody else is laughing about. 5 years ago nobody took a pump gas DSM seriously.

He’s now claiming he’s flowing 78lbs/min.

Sorry, but not on a 3052.
