hey gents,
I took some gear into an upscale mens consignment store in uptown Toronto today but some of the stuff was out of season. I thought i’d try here.
If you are my size (38R) and more of a hipster than I am, which i know for certain many of you are, you may be interested. As for pricing… these are nice pieces but i don’t really need a bunch of cash for them. The stuff is just too good to donate only to have a thrifter pick them up and resell them again. I’m doing a massive closet cleaning and this is about the last of it.
Pricing: If you are an established dude throw a few bucks my way and anything is yours. If you’re not quite kicking ass out there yet but want something here you can just have it… i’ll leave those distinctions up to you. But don’t flip this stuff… purpose here it to get the gear to someone who’ll put it to good use.
I’ll be in WNY tomorrow (later today actually - Tuesday), prob hitting picassos for a late lunch with Josh so if you catch me right away i can bring whatever along with me
First Up:
A ridiculously awesome hunting / shooting jacket. This is a true 38R and fits me PERFECTLY, but i will simply never wear it… It’s italian made, slim fitting, has functional cuffs, is a thick warm tweedish material and is vintage but in MINT shape. The mens consigner today actually really liked this piece but it’s out of season. This is a pretty serious piece actually and would be a couple hundred bucks in a good consignment store.
Second:
New With Tags… never worn once, vintage navy blue tweed jacket… made in poland, modern cut but not really a fitted cut… fits like a true 38R which is to say it fits me well, but again, i’ll never wear it… I just added it to a buy i made from a dude i bought other gear off… 2 button single vent blah blah blah
Third Piece:
Lanvin patch pocket jacket… this also fits true to a 38R but could be considered slightly long (38L) Lanvin is a pretty foo-foo name and something similar from Lanvin off the rack would be well over $1,000 but the shoulders being padded dates it and for me makes it a no-go, but maybe you dont mind a sharp shoulder. This is crazy high quality with visible hand stitching, made in the US so it’s not a super slim fit but it is tapered through the torso with high-arm holes so it feels good.
On the right sleeve at the wrist there is a dark spot you can see in the first pic… nothing to be concerned about. also in the pics you can see the serious Lanvin branded metal buttons…
Lastly: 3 Brooks Brothers wool sweaters… these are all size small but have shrunk a bit so they are really an XS or 34-36R. Honestly, if they fit you and you’ll use them they’re free to a good home. the two button mock neck sweaters were each only worn once or so until washed and they shrunk passed what i can reasonable wear. the argyle is a higher end BB line and i wore it for a few month before it shrunk.
