I was there just seemed like it shoulda been thought out a little better …the parade kinda sucked unless u got there at 5am and waited
i walked up to it at 11:15 and just missed cowher go past mellon on grant + 5th.
you could get really close, but people driving aorund market sq / ft duq got fuckin owned! haha… there were running cars with no drivers and cars parked in the middle of the street.
I just don’t think that anyone thought that 30,000 people would show up… every parking garage around my end of town was full and closed… at 9:30am there wasn’t anyone around… only a handful down around the stage.
30,000!!! the city works director estimated 250,000. I’d say there were 30,000 in gateway center. but 250,000 is absurd
yeah… i mean there were a ton of people, but i’m saying 30k extra people… most of the people were people like me that woudl be downtown regardless of the parade…
i dunno though, the crowd was pretty damn thick all the way from ross st. to market sq.
Make sure you catch the news tonight Sonny… they were showing shots from a helicopter and it was amazing… it was a sea of peoples!!!
I got a good spot near the mellon building about 5-6 rows back from the parade, it was pretty sick. My buddies dad owns a pizza place in market square and he said it was more busy than any st. pattys day parade.
Welp I have over 100 pictures I have to go through and pick the good pictures out of.
My Grandmother had a great time we were down on the corner of Fifth avenue place. I was getting a bunch of laughs heckling some degenerate that was like “I’m trying to get to school” just to push her way up front. We told her multiple times the mounted county police wern;t letting anyone cross.
I also had a had hot petite chick on my shoulders taking pictures for me.
It was a win win situation all around.
