Steering Wheel Removal (Help Needed)

The car that I purchased had its stereo stolen and someone had broken the turn indicator in the process of smashing the window. So I proceeded to get a new turn signal assembly and this weekend decided to tackle the job.

Well theres one problem. The Airbag assembly is attached with two special torx screws. No problem, call Nissan and buy the special socket. Wrong. Nissan wont sell the socket to me and wants to do the whole job. I tried drilling a hole in a normal torx socket but they are simply too hard of a material for the tools I have at home.

Im wondering if anyone a) has the special bit I can borrow for a day (below). b) Knows a tech at Nissan that will let me come by and use the tool in the lot or loosen the screws for me.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I cant pass cert without this.

Pm nightrider, He seems to be in with all the nissan techs.

They are security tox’s. You can probably get them form napa. If not i can get them for you from snapon or mac. But i dont konw the price.

I’ve got a whole set of security torx just like that, and other strange bits. lemme know, I might be able to drop by if you’re inthe gta.

Go to any Electronic Shop and pick up a little kit of Security Torx Bits.

Cost’s like $9.99 and will get the job done.

Thanks for the tips guys.
