Steering Wheel Rewrapping

I have a Nardi Classic wheel and the leather has taken quite the beating. Was wondering if there was any way that you can get the wheel rewrapped in new leather/suede? Has anyone done this or know a place that I can go to get the wheel restored?

Anyone???

this would be cool, I would go with a black suede and yellow center line ftw!

Yea, just need to find a place to get it done. But at the same time, not about to be paying big money to get it rewrapped… Would be better off buying a whole new wheel. Really hope someone can give me some insight.

We should be able to do this but i really need to see the wheel. Its time consuming work as all the stitching is done by hand.

Fell free to stop by the shop and talk to louis the upholsterer. He should be able to help you out.

check out the tutorials on youtube… many different styles.

I am in the same boat… trying it myself…

i have a classic too i need re wrapped

Not to discourage anyone but from upholsters ive worked with whom have 10-35+ years in the industry its cheaper to buy a new wheel than it would be to upholster in almost all cases

unless its a unlimited budget interior restoration on a classic car and their simply is no new wheel to buy or that wheel has to stay to keep it all original then it makes sense to re-re the wheel.

I told Darian(S13GG) as he Pm’d me asking to do it and i told him that the shop i learned upholstery in would almost never do a wheel because of the time involved in it. Its difficult for a customer to understand how a little bit of leather for their wheel is going to cost $800+. It will take about 10 hours give or take 2 and a lot of patience. I can pass on a number for a shop that can do it if your interested in forking out some coin.
