heh, the shit stern said in backlash was pretty funny…
His radio broadcasts are pointless when he has a hot girl on and they get nekkid… he should just do HBO and XM… XM isnt moderated by the FCC as of yet…
DVE isnt that bad, at least I dont hear the same songs till the next day… I think kiss has to be the worse… they fucking record their broadcast and then play it ever after 2 hours… I get stuck listening to it at work and want to rip the radio outa the fucking wall…
I dont care for stern, but his TV show is pretty ok…
First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

correct, but one is the state forcing kids to cite an oath to religion, and one is a non-elected body deciding at their whim what is and isnt acceptable, and congress granted them the power to punt ANYONE they want off the air. Sure, Stern pushes the boundaries, but thats a good thing wether you care to listen to it or not. He is excercising his right to free speach. Who does the government think it is to tell people what they can and cant listen to? If people dont want their kids to listen to Stern, then they make sure they dont listen to it. Shall we ban Chapelle’s Show and South Park because of its indecent language and racy subject matter? Because I can guarantee you thats the next step. This is them getting their foot in the door to what could potentially be a free-for-all. I mean, if you dont like it, dont listen to it. Simple as that. Parents are responsible for their kids, not the FCC. There are some guidelines already in place that keep things from getting ridiculous (Stern cant say "Hey slut, get your cock sucking ass over here so I can fuck your pussy and blow my strain of pearls all over your face). The system wasnt broke, and they are “trying” to fix it. And by doing so stealing another little piece of freedom right from under your nose. Pretty soon all the little pieces are gonna start adding up…
This is a non-elected body, enforcing the vaguest laws EVER (its basically 100% up to their discretion on who they choose to fine). They answer only to the president. And they are dredging up dirt from years ago… The things that got him punted for good in Pittsburgh are from something that the FCC dug up from over a year ago, in Florida. Do you know how much anit-bush rhetoric he spouts off? And GWB’s FCC goes right ahead and does everything they can to get kicked off the air… hmmmmm, im not much of a conspiracy theorist, but that is some shady shit notwo ways about it. Im sure they are just crying their eyes out that hes losing a ton of markets. Its the perfect example of how this power can be corrupted. GWB is using it to silence one of his most outspoken opponents…
Scary shit.

What about us who WANT our kids to cite an oath to religion?..you know the type of religion that this country was founded on?
oh wait…freedom of speech doesnt apply to freedom of religious speech in our liberal society today…my bad.

They can cite an oath, but does it have to be in school? Can my kid cite an oath to Satan in school then?
Just messin’ - felt like causing trouble.

The “under God” was grafted onto the pledge in 1954 by a Christian conservative Congress. It’s not part of the original pledge and has no business being in any sort of official document/oath.
This country wasn’t founded on religion…it was founded on the ideas of capitalism and libertarianism. The colonialists were sick of England’s shit and went guerilla on their asses. Saying America was founded for any religious reason is revisionist history.

Most of the founding father’s were religious individuals. They did not want a “state imposed” religion. I don’t think that they meant that religion had to be banned from anything remotely related to government like it is today.
This was taken from the following site. Religion and the Federal Government, Part 1 - Religion and the Founding of the American Republic | Exhibitions (Library of Congress)
The first two Presidents of the United States were patrons of religion–George Washington was an Episcopal vestryman, and John Adams described himself as “a church going animal.” Both offered strong rhetorical support for religion. In his Farewell Address of September 1796, Washington called religion, as the source of morality, “a necessary spring of popular government,” while Adams claimed that statesmen “may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand.”
