Would like to see this article… Troy does not lift a weight ever. plyometrics only. he drops down about 20 lbs over the off season from doing it so much and his flexability is amazing. he gets up to his playing weight by about the 3rd game of the season.
Alot of guys in the nfl are physical freaks… one of the coolest work outs I ever saw was Archuletas(sp?), he used some electro junk and all fast movements, nothing slow like normal lifting. Hard to explain it all, but it was impressive.
I know I thought it was weird too when i saw it…I heard the same exact thing you are talking about…he drops down to like 19X lbs in the offseason.
Here are a few links where they note the stats I am talking about

Here is an article talking about some of his typical training he does
whats so hard to understand about it? just because normal weight training isnt in his personal routine doesnt mean he has NEVER EVER bench pressed.
the best one ever was terrell davis, he would run up some big ass mountain with that tire strapped to his back, just like he did in the eas commercial. and bill romanowski had some sick workouts too, minus the vitameans…
