Sorry for the delay in pictures! I snapped a few pictures before paint when it had a partially chrome engine bay. The pictures don’t do it justice, The polished engine bay would have been cool as hell. It would never last though. He continued on all weekend to remove all the rust and spot welds and it’s quite lovely.
So, here we are now. The GSX is back at the shop, all painted and beautiful. 4 days to go!
The third runner is almost finished, now, and it’s time to get Humpty back together again.
OMG. U ACTUALLY MISSED A PICTURE AND DIDN’T LIKE/COMMENT IT ON FACEBOOK?!?!???
I am pretty sure you have it worse off than pretty bartenders that work downtown lol. Atleast the guys who leghump them are actually used to being around girls lol. Car guys are creeps lol
The ACT Twin Disc clutch arrived things are starting to come together! It’s 1:34 am now and we are tuning a car. We have Wednesday and Thursday to finish this thing and get it to Ohio Friday morning!! It’s getting a little crazy around here, not to mention all the other cars that need to be finished up!. Feels like the last week of college before tests!
Sorry guys… it was getting a little crazy around shootout time!
I snapped a few pics while it was on the dyno. The car was tuned very low-key for driveability. Not time to push it yet. Made 450 HP and sounds great! Pump gas for now. We are working on making some kind of twin-pump set-up, and I believe we will eventually be smelling E85.
For now, he’s pretty happy to have his car back… apparently it was pretty sick, as D-Sport Magazine decided to take a few pics of their own :sneaky:
And it seems like it was pretty popular at the DSM Shootout!
I can’t wait to get this thing to a nice location for real pics!!
On pump gas 93 octane, we sent Eddie on his way for a few weeks to get used to the car, feel for the clutch and generally accept 450 HP!
But the time has come to start modding again. We tested out the new Walbro 400 LPH on this 2g, as well as swapped out the 93 and switched over to E85.
The Walbro pump performed very respectably, maxing out at 35 psi and making 588 HP and 482 TQ! Since dyno numbers are so hard to judge, for reference, Cory’s Evil TSI 2g was running 10.3 at about 450 HP.
STM will release an install kit for the 2g shortly, so keep an eye out for that.
Here’s the dyno graph from today:
In the future, this DSM can take more fuel and certainly more power! The stock 1g intake manifold is still limiting as well, but for now… I believe just under 600 HP will be more than fun on the streets!
