Just wanted to post an update on our 05 Evo:
Since our last pass at our local 1/4 mile track in Leicester of 10.1@137, we haven’t been able to run due to our lack of a roll cage, but we’ve been finding time to tune it here and there. We are having a hard time turning the “RICER” into a full-blown race car and we just aren’t ready to tear it up with a roll cage yet!
We are certaintly hoping to get this stock-block 4g63 motor to see a 9 second pass! As of now, this Evo is the fastest and quickest stock-block Evo in the world and I would personally like to see it as the fastest stock-block 4g63 in the world!
I’ve had some unconfirmed reports of someone’s DSM running a low 10 on a stock motor- if anyone has anymore information on the fastest stock-block dsm’s, I would like to see what has been done.
When I say “stock motor” I mean the head has never been off the block. Stock head gasket, stock internals, rods, pistons, no porting, stock valves… It does have ARP head studs and 272 cams.
None-the-less, we plan on building the motor after this season, I think after the shootout we will have pressed this motor to it’s limits and, most likely, way beyond!
