STM's Winter Toy... 2010 BMW 135i

About this time every year, we pack up the Evo’s and go buy something “different” for winter and toy with them.

Well, it’s that time of year again and this time around…

2010 BMW 135i
Twin Turbo I6 with the M Sport paddle shifters.

“Things” are already on order

Stay Tuned.

Nice  What tuning solution are you going with ?

Looks really fun!

why the M badge

and love the motors in those

Thanks! We have a Cobb on the way, when it gets here I’ll have some more info. And I don’t know about the M badges. They are on the rear of the car, steering wheel, door jam guards and on each wheel.

It’s a very nice car. Responsive, tight, the motor sounds great and very comfortable. I’m a fan. We will take good care of her.

 to a sweet little car  to autotragic. In for results.

the 135 came with the “M-sport” package. All the logos are stock with exception of the badge on the back.

Nice pickup! Are those n54 or n55?

X…

Thanks Jeller… that explains why the rear badge is peeling up just a little on the corner. I thought that was weird.

I actually like the auto. We drove the 335 in the 6 speed and I didn’t really like the feel of it. In sport mode the 135 shifts instantly. I kinda like it. It’s fun.

The brakes in this car are awesome.

I still have a lot of reading to do… I don’t even know what n54/n55 means yet :frowning: Tell you what, I’ll just drive the thing and take pictures.

Engine codes. The N54 is twin turbo and the N55 is single turbo.

No prob^ Not a fan of the rear badging as it belongs on “M” cars.

2010 135’s depending on build date could have either the N54 (twin turbo) or N55 (single turbo, but top of the engine will say “twin power” but it is a single turbo, I think its a twin scroll actually).

N54 will have slightly better numbers with some modding.

This should be splendid.

are the autos in these cars DSGs?

N54 it is, then.

On with the show.

Great project…!

Is photography a hobby of yours? You always have really great pics/angles. Are you for hire to do a shoot for my car when it is done?

Nice numbers, bet that woke the car up a bit, gotta love the low end torque for around town

Some Downpipes, intercooler and a bit more tuning and you should see about 350whp/400wtq on pump with the mustang dyno.

The N54 community really needs a single turbo kit/fueling for this motor, the wait is killing me.

is that just a basemap from the accessport or a protune?

Just a base map for now.

Interest piqued…

traditional auto, outside of the M cars, you can only get twin clutch on the Z4 with the highest package or the 335is which is an awesome car. It’s a 7 speed on either of these.
