Even with the 3 psi, It was pressurizing my coolant system…
Made my reservoir murky.
The motor had other outstanding issues when this kit was installed, I just figured it would last more than 20 miles…
Fully planed on pulling the motor but not sure what to put in.
I think I am going to wire the wastegate shut and see if I can hit a sub 5 second 0-60…
So, I thinking pulling the motor is the best option.
But what do i put it 1.6/1.8 - Turbo/blower/itbs

Brian, pull the head off, make sure it’s straight, get a cometic gasket, slap that it, boost till bottom end goes boom. I bet it lasts awhile if you dont crank the boost.
i agree with MPD, just fix the headgasket and continue to boost.
ditch the 1.6l b6d swap to the 1.8 bp and turbo that much better platform you can get a manifold for the 1.8 that works with the 1.6 greddy kit from etdracing

Fuck, According to email my shock mounts won’t ship for another 2 weeks…
Got FM springs and Koni adjustables with the FCM strut mounts.
Rollbar/exhaust/flares/motor mounts will be done before the track day as well.
With all this I am willing to be I will be slower…hahahah.

I may have done an oil change today and got in the car and started it.
Then as I do my walk to the front to peak under for leaks, I notice oil being skeet skeet skeeted all over.

I might be crazy enough to just stick with my 1.6
Even if I kill this one. Just get another 1.6
That’s what I did. I swapped in a built 1.8l, blew it to holy hell, put the original 1.6 put back in (the short nose too ). With all the people doing the 1.8 swaps, you can get 1.6s for next to nothing all day. Torque is nice and all, but eh.
