Ordered a miatacage.com cage today. I have been busy with training for work lately-- trying to get all of my classes out of the way before spring hits so I dont have to do them in june.
Heres some pics of the cage kit installed. There are pretty amazing for a “kit”. They have done a TON of r&d on these and are on the 4th version. When installed correctly, they guarantee it will pass SCCA and NASA rules. Tons of room inside. You do still need to notch some of the ends, but this ensures that you get the tightest fit possible.
What colors do I paint the interior and cage? I was thinking white interior with a pink cage. Dont want to do black for fear of the bars getting stupid hot to grab onto sitting in the sun.
Black won’t be hot to the touch. You’ll be wearing fire rated gloves anyways. And any piece of the cage that are within reach should have roll bar padding on it.
Hmm. I bet it would look ok if i keep the interior purple and paint the cage white.
Never thought about gloves. I plan to have padding on it as well, so youre right in the heat might not be a factor really.
That’s the one. '11 sti and an '06 evo as well I assume. I have a build thread for my '06 sti that I just sold. Loved that car dearly but I needed something cheaper for the track.
Im not sure neon green will match the purple. I figure if im keeping it purple I might as well make it as gay as possible and paint the cage pink, get a dildo shift knob and a dildo antenna.
purple and green look awesome together. plus youll have black pads on the cage so itll be a more subtle touch of color…since you have a classy maroonish, so a classy darker BRG type color

If you promise not to do fucking heaters (is that possible?) you can take a short run on them.
I have gotten this a lot. The hardcore track people have found that a 225/45 on a 9 wheel has the fastest lap times. Has something ti do with sidewall preloading with the slight stretch. These 9 inch wheels are specially made for miatas.
