Hey guys just found this link via vboard, but I thought that I would post it here as I’m sure there is a few of you guys out there who might take interest in trying/doing this I know I probably will be when I get my car out of storage in the Spring.
Hmm, that seems like a pretty good winter project. The dome & map lights in my car are the usual dim OEM crap.
I like little time-eating projects like this, I might just have to try it out
Oh, and since you were wondering, use the 560 ohm resistor on the 12V circuit in your car. The 37 ohm is for testing with a 9V battery. He must have mixed up his words on that post.
I messaged the guy through his eBay account (down a bit on the Maxima.org thread), he offers free shipping to the US but no mention of Canada. There should be something cheap on eBay, you can find anything there!
I’d only go there if there was absolutely nowhere else to go, the prices are sky high. I’m sure there are electrical wholesalers that carry LED’s, or at least some other electronics shops that don’t charge an arm and a leg
The 560 ohm resistor is used to test each individual LED with a 9V battery. Once the board is all assembled a 37 ohm resistor is used in line with the (-) wire on the 12V system in the car.
