the 4 puck has the same pedal pressure…it doesnt change @ all… but the grab that it produces is insane…
And yes the headers will open up alot of power…but will drop PSI on the supercharger…Ill be ordering my stainless lines for the custom icebox this weekend so Ill get pictures of that up…too bad the valley is closed now…cuz I cant run it with the cooling setup till next spring…
Yes I have more mods…but shes also running about 3 lbs more boost… does she have motor mounts?? or an engine dampner?? something doesnt seem right there…also what are both those tibs using for tuning?? what does the RIPP kit produce for power?? and did he have any problems with the tuning of it
If your best time was a 14.5 man that’s nearly identical… .3 in the 1/4 is pretty much nothing. I’d really like to see your exact trap as that will tell exactly how close the power is. Her car is a 6spd as well, is yours? The 6spds are usually slightly slower in the 1/4. Her clutch also slips slightly in second so that could make up the time right there.
Her car might make more boost but I guarantee you make slightly more power as you’re making each psi your charger produces that much more efficient with those headers. She does have both engine and tranny mounts but needs better tires and an LSD if she ever wants to pull some great 60’s.
My buddies RIPP S/C is supposed to put down around 230whp with the base kit but the car is not tuned completely right now. It’s running an SAFC for tuning and runs decent. The idle is a bit choppy but that’s pretty standard with the blow through MAF and SAFC. The plan is to upgrade to the RIPP black box this winter which is similar to the mafterburner program.
I am 6 spd also… our power is probly almost identical as she is urnning a stage 1 thats cooled and I have a stage 0 that is not cooled but with headers… and yes.traction on these cars blows…
We didn’t notice any real improvements for power when we added the intercooler. It is definately working as her IAT temps are much more consistant and a bit lower but with this low of boost her charger doesn’t seem to really get that much heat soak. I’m sure once the boost gets upped the benefits will be far greater.
Not to say your wrong or anything but… your wrong… just stating your blower gets “hot” means nothing you need to monitor your IAT temperatures across the board. I use various ways to monitor afr, iat, knock, etc. With the addition of the intercooler her IAT’s dropped about 15 degrees… substantial but certainly not worth 25whp.
The intercooler doesn’t really add HP it attempts to eliminate heat soak and cool the compressed air to prevent detonation. If you want to add some power while cooling your intake air look into a meth injection kit, they work absolute wonders on boosted cars, especially supercharged ones. I lowered my IAT’s on my Cobalt by over 30 degrees with meth injection and it also allowed me to run much higher timing
I’m not some noob to the boost world man. I’ve been building and tuning cars for years and you simply are not going to pick up that much power from hooking up your water box and heat exchanger to your current setup.
Ok the icebox setup is almost fully done…Just waiting on the heat exchanger fittings to be welded on and I cna pick it up tommorow morning!! WOOHOO! but heres the engine bya setup with the ice box tghe pump and all the lines installed…
I mounted my pump right under the icebox and this thing is stealth quite
The icebox will be powdercoated the wrinkle red of the other accents the plenum will be powdercoated the same black as the rest and the blower and fuel rails will be polished all done this winter…and the fittings on the FPR will be changed to black…
PLEASE EXCUSE THE DIRTY ENGINE BAY…AND MISSING PLASTICS…I NEED NEW PLASTICS PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY!!
