i am looking to trade my GTP in on a svt lightning as a daily driver!! now i am wondering what are the downfalls on these trucks they have any major problems? chances are i would leave it stock!! im not sure what to do! i just have to make sure numbers and insurance add up!! i just want some info before i dig deeper into this idea? thxs greg

not that the lightning is for hauling…but keep in mind that the payload & towing capability are shitty.

gtp’s arent as good as you think on gas
most look for 2001 and newer ones( 99 & 00 had some issue, cant remember right now)
with the winters we have been having i dont think it matters much

yeah the GTP with a pulley swap i am getting maybe 15mph city!! im not rich,but i never really look at how many miles i get outta a tank? i just throw 20 in here and there!! i am just hoping i can find one for a great price!! but i think my insurance will kill me?so i might just keep the gtp 2 more yrs!!

thats with no groceries. id estimate about 12 with the trunk full!
2WD. No weight in the rear, all in front.
More simply: Shitty when the weather is. Probably not going too far in the snow.
