I had the two original GoPro’s that I ended up selling, partially because of their short comings addressed above. One wide angle one normal.
I wanted to get into it with a newer model but didn’t want to spend $300 on Hero 2, or ~$200 for Hero 1 (used around $150). New models are nicer in many ways especially with the screen attachment you can buy and extra battery but price becomes a major factor with all these addons.
For the price this was perfect, addresses all the shortcomings of the GoPro, allows me to have a spare cam in the future and even if I don’t use it as much as I expect i’m not out that much $.
