i did say that didnt i, ha ha, i’m happy i finally got around to it! :banana oh and tony, let me know how your trip to howards went, i hope you get everything straightened out, good luck
I know dan was never happy with the way his 3000 ran. He stayed even with a ws6 that had exhaust and a small cam that put down 380whp when his did 430awhp. He said it never ran strong. Other then that I just saw how sad Travis’s car ran compared to byrons also
i just got back from howards, i gotta say howard took alot of time and did everything he could to help me out. As the car sat , just like i pulled in to synapse it made 514rwhp ( not great but better than the 489) after he tweaked my tune i left w/ the car @ 535rwhp, not the 556rwhp it was but then again i now have wayyy heavier, taller wheels and its also a different day and a different dyno so i guess i can live w/ being down 20hp. On the flip side for the rest of the season im gonna spray it w/ a 50shot and we dont have to touch the tune. A flip style tune is in the works, so i can basically flip a toggle switch and go from an aggressive n/a tune to a nitrous tune. It is not available as of yet so ill deal w/ the baby shot. Howard mentioned a real nasty head package that should get me to my goal of 600rwhp, ahah we will see, looks like a good winter project unless a real good deal pops up on a new viper or ZR1. Also he wants me to do a compression test and leak down test just for the hell of it, so i decided i will, although for 20hp im not gonna tear the motor out of the car, if i do have a weak cyl. i will then have to make moves and maybe change up the plans a little bit…we will see!
p.s on the way home the sotp feeling was much better!, and even w/ only a 50shot in i still wont be that much lower than i was, i only hit it w/ a 150 twice and was mostly on the 100, 514base plus 100 is 615, now 535 plus 50 is 585, so down 30rwhp will be ok i guess since i will stress the motor less, not burn plugs, not drive around detuned all the time when 99% of the time i dont spray.
you forgot to mention me and Howard found the Vacume line blown off before the first pull was even done…so you might have been around 490rwhp with that vac. line off.
514 was the way it was not touching a thing from sunday, so it was still 25hp lower at morgans. He tweaked the tune a little and now its at the 535, alot better than 514 but not as good as the 556 i used to be!
there is no way in hell that vac line off made me lose 20hp, it was more of an idleing issue, thats where the fuel trims were off not at wot!! more of a drivabilty problem, not performance.
