so who is having reduced battery life on there 3g JB or there JB and unlocked this sucks im hearing its more from the 3.0 update anyone know any quick little fixes
Well i lose everything i installed from cydia if i update through itunes to 3.0?
yes all jailbroken apps will be gone
My phones been pretty strange at times with the JB. Ill get random sounds like the camera when I slide to unlock. My standby time seems to be much less and things crash more. So far I’m not seeing to much benefit to having it JB.
But has anyone seen reduced batter life with updating to 3.0?? I can’t go a whole day anymore without having to charge it. Just with texting and a few phone calls net even playing games.
Turn off your push apps.
I haven’t noticed any worse battery life on my 3.0 jailbroken phone. Still have email syncing every 30 minutes, no other push apps.
I have noticed it’s slow as hell on HSBC’s encrypted stuff though.
Keeping my AIM connected with push running all day kills my battery. I have been glused to SiriusXM streaming all week so its hard to tell how much long the battery life is changed.
Look for a 3.0.1 update very soon tho. Hopefully they check out the battery life issue on it.

How do i jail break 3.0? is there a download and install guide for this, anyone have a link to this? Sorry i’m at work and i dont have time to look all over to find this yet. thanks

Thanks, well i did it last time it was pretty easy, but i dont know if it has changed, last time i just downloaded a big file and plugged in my phone to my computer held shift and opened the file…
really easy restore 3.0 with itunes. open redsn0w select the 3.0firmware hit ok follow instructions for DUF mode or whatever its called walk away
i will still have cydia after this? Unlocked is for other carriers right, and jailbroken is for cydia and all the apps?
sry i forgot which is which, but as long as i still have all my apps and stuff that would be cool.
redsn0w only jailbreaks, it does not unlock of other carriers.
I believe ultrasn0w will unlock but I’ve never looked into it since I don’t need it.
RedSnow is the jailbreak tool which will give you cydia. From there, install ultrasn0w if you want to unlock it.
3.1 is out for devs…
Some strange features they added. Like holding the come button to arrange your icons has the phone viberate when they start to wobble…
