Uhhh, the’s the Gulf Racing Livery. Please dont associate it with ford when it became popular on the 917.
The house of Stuttgart would enter the 1969 season with it´s 908 racers, and it is not until the 6th race, that the 917 makes it´s debut
One of the Gulf Ford GT-40s (No. 09) during the 1968 Le Mans;
nice try mike Ford had the famous paint scheme before the 917
oh and just for reference
Black w/ black wheels :eek:
Is your sole purpose trying to bust my balls? You only post in my topics to do so. I realize it was on the Ford GT’s but when you say Gulf Livery most people will associate it with the 917, NOT the (old) GT. Whereas people who know nothing of either will associate it with the new GT.
Oh yeah, and Porsche was running Gulf livery before ford, in the early 60’s on the 911’s. Which is why it’s usually associated with them.
hang on let me call the whambulance for you, its not busting your balls when its correcting you with facts
and if you want to go back to cars that where painted with the orange and blue scheme you would have to say that the paint was known for Harry Miller’s 1937 Indy 500 chanllenger
PS, we could go at this all day if you want I have the book Blue & Orange, the history of Gulf in Motorsport
:pimp:
