Jeg, you really shouldnt argue about anything involving economics.
I mean, its entertaining, but, come on…

Please explain how you have come to this conclusion.
If you don’t like social programs then you should move to a country that doesn’t really have any. I hear Mexico is nice this time of year, or how about Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Algeria, Darfur, Liberia, Belize, Brazil, Haiti, Colombia, Argentina, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Mongolia(excellent skiing), India, Rwanda, Somalia, Syria, Lebanon…
…I think theres a pattern here but I’m not quite sure.
sry
As I understand it, the method we’re looking at, and may actually do a pilot plant study at a new coal plant in Jamestown, involved keeping it gaseous and compressing it and pumping it into a storage cavern in the ground at a couple thousand psi. Something like that anyway. I’m a bit skeptical of the idea of “permanent storage” when it comes to environmental issues. We actually have a hydrogen storage cavern in texas, but it’s not permanent storage it’s like a big buffer tank for product gas we sell and ship via truck/pipeline.
I say our best option for now is nuclear, and then futurama the nuclear waste.
social programs for people that actually need it arent a bad thing, poorly thought out and broken social programs that don’t work/burden the economy are another story (see NY, california, canada, etc)
lets put all the waste into west valley … oh wait
whoa, is this hydrogen storage cavern a couple thousand psi too? that would make for a sweet explosion.
Is it really possible to keep CO2 that pressurized forever? Wouldn’t the cavern just rupture over time in even the slightest way and cause it all to leak out?
yeah, it doesnt seem likely that you’d be able to completely seal it off
 Ain’t that just the billion dollar question?
if you figure out either this or our BAC device for trading you can have that cabinet-level position.
Getting too OT with the gas storage shit but i am very curious about it. also wouldnt dumping co2 into the ocean kill shit thats down there?
Outta sight outta mind.
I guess Mexico sounds good, close to skiing and you can pay my doctors bills whenever I visit. I might have to change my name to Miguel though.
:word:. I’ve said that many times, the problem we have is not that we need MORE social programs, but we need to reform the ones we have to work better. Not throw more money into the ones that don’t work in hopes of fixing the problems that stemmed from this to begin with.
This bailout is doomed from the start.
It will only create higher taxes and increased costs down the road.
The tax burden will be passed on to the states and then to the counties and ultimately it will cost everyone far more than it gives them.
Free Market society is the only way to make this right. The good get better and the weak die.
well… I guess we’ll find out soon enough. As much as I don’t want to see him fail (hey, all politics aside, we’re all in this together), I can’t wait to say “I told ya so”
I also wonder how pissed off people are going to be when they find out the lousy 500 bux isnt going to come as a “free” hand out check…but as part of your federal taxable earnings in a paycheck
But everyone knows what they are always voting for
