Looking good as always  You waited about 3 years longer than I would have to open that file cabinet.
He left behind quite a few things… Only a few of them have I gotten around to doing anything with. I have a glass top cooler and stand alone ice maker in the garage that I have to see if they work…or are full of cash or heads
Black cabinets  They never see the greasy fingers. I’m with jeller on figuring out what was in the locked cabinet, that would have been on my short list.
X…
Framed the wall to separate the upper and lower garage today.
Gyp board, insulation, door to come
Insulated…maybe gyp board this weekend
Didn’t catch this earlier - effin’ sweet
Finally got around to putting up some gyp board. After using the new light weight 1/2 board for my last few projects 5/8 type x was a rude awakening when it came to carrying it up a flight of stairs.
I also enclosed the existing landing to create a mud room. Hopefully it will help eliminate the blast of cold garage air entering the house.
The wife requested a window to holler at me from.
Lol love the wife and window reference. I totally forgot about that purple you picked up a while ago.
I hear ya on the 5/8" I used it in my garage, it’s like 4 times heavier than the lightweight 1/2" stuff.
X…
I’m happy I’m not doing any ceilings.
got back to hanging some gyp board…
I am jealous of your cars and garage…ugh
Neither are fully assembled so don’t be too jealous
Looking great!
finally got around to nearly finishing up the mud room project…haven’t had much time for projects- house or car- since our baby girl arrived in may…but now my wife has worked up some crazy scheme to sell our house, combine resources with her parents- who are currently selling their house and moving closer to us- and buy some yet to be found super house with a stand alone in-law suite/house/apartment…so she wants all house projects completed post-haste. i’m not convinced it is a great idea, but i’m willing to play along in the name of progress on projects.
still need to get flooring installed. the original plan was carpet, but now i’m tempted to do tile, in which case i shouldn’t have installed the base trim already.
need to paint 1 more door and tune up my rattle-can work on the other 2
i wanted to do some crown molding but i couldn’t find anything simple enough at the big boxes so i made some of my own out of 1x6 pine…other than being a real bitch to cope, i feel like it worked out okay
I love your house and you just put that pool in too!
and finally got tile installed and grouted.
i bought the tile (12"x24") because i thought it looked interesting and afforded the opportunity to do this kind of pattern. it was also advertised and labelled as being porcelain, which i liked. porcelain tile has the advantage over ceramic in that the coloring typically goes throughout the tile. as such i was expecting the gray body color to be throughout. unfortunately this does not appear to be the case. there is yet another gray color that is throughout and the black pattern and gray is glazing similar to a ceramic tile. the glazing did chip relatively easily so it required a bit of care to get it installed. this was a disappointment, but i think i would still use the same tile again.
