Thinking of doing a disc conversion on the civic

According to the information I looked up there are also two bolt holes that you can thread a bolt into for aiding in removal of the drum for inspection.

  1. Soak it in penetrating oil.
  2. Put bolts in two holes to press drums off
  3. Hit with hammer
  4. Tighten bolts more to press it off
  5. Repeat from 3 to get it off.

Also of note there is an adjuster as well but I’m not sure how to back it off in this case if the drum is grooved. If it’s just a beater it’s probably not even worth doing unless you find the cylinders are siezed, or have easy access to the parts.

The shoes, and rebuild parts are silly cheap.

Looks like about $30ish total.
