VW Super CC Eco Performance Concept. SEMA 2008.
With three modes for optimum performance and economy, Volkswagen’s Super CC Eco Performance Concept takes the Passat CC FSI to new levels, namely higher output and lower fuel consumption but also to subtle styling highs.
Custom bumpers front and rear, side panels and a new machined rear spoiler are principle design highlights, the custom grey pearl paint contrasting with black chrome details. Inside and the same stylish contrasts are headed up with piano black accents and matte black graphics. Custom-designed 20-inch alloys feature.
A three-stage turbocharger allows three outputs, with the 2.0-litre FSI unit from the production Passat CC producing 222-311 hp according to the selection of either Eco, GT or Performance modes. Peak torque in Performance mode is 313 lbs/ft. Justifying its Eco mode, fuel efficiency tops 33 mpg on the highway and 27 in the city - compared with the standard model’s 28 and 19 mpg respectively. “Even the full power mode showed a fuel economy increase!” Technical upgrades include those to its suspension and to the brake system.
