I do it for a living. I’m well aware. That being said, I have a few options for “loaned” money to cover the bit I’m not taking out of my savings. Ordinary lending rules don’t apply to me
Either way, I think my best bet right now to spend $30k, would to pay off my Highlander.
30K DP on the house would be nice as well
:bigclap: to putting your priorities in order first. I have wanted a super nice fox body or 03-04 cobra for a while but my house and family comes first(just bought a new edge for the wife). Ill get me something in a year or too hopefully lol
I currently have a rediculously unobtainable rate on the truck for 36 months. The $700 payment doesn’t bother me bc I’m throwing a lot more than that in it every month, to principle only payments. Refinancing would give me a lower payment, but I’d still be throwing the same amount of money at it every month…with a higher rate. The $700 doesn’t strap me and extending it 2 more years to lower my payment by $300 doesn’t do anything for me.
And my car was a bone stock LS1. Had an LS6 intake, hand ported TB and headers/very good exhaust. Untuned. Probably made a max of 325hp. John’s silver car is making 125whp more than that. Craziness!!
And I have driven a LOT of really nice LSx stuff. You have the great motor (stole the sole?) in a engine compartment easier to work on then most Fbodies, and vetts. But is a lot smaller and light car, that handles like go cart. But the one think I didn’t like was the hinson torque arm setup, and the IRS. wheel hop- to much power for the short tourqe arm to me trans mounted. On that chassis with the weak trans mount. I actually fully welded all the trans mount and tunnle seams on Brents RX7 over at MPDs before the drive train was fit, and didn;t know much about that TA setup. I’m glad brent wanted that done after the car started driving.
I’d like to post some pics but I know how much my friend with that sliver one dosn’t like showing off his shit. But that car had a lot of little custom rebuilt/engineered improvements over the bolt together swap cars. He has a full production machine fab shop with bridgeports, lathes, grinders, vertical mills, welding booths. How ever he worded it on that site “custom diff mount” makes the car un compairable to a normal style torque arm/IRS car. NO wheel hop, TA is off the trans. Shifts alot better, and rides great. He mad a whole diff brace with the diff support mounts form scratch, and forgot if you still it has the TA or made a new front mount? (one of the best street driving, things I did to my camaro was buy a trans Xmember that the TA mounts too and off the trans tail shaft) He did tied a few things and whatever the way the car is now, your not going to find it or build it easily.
He also bought the same cam form new era (street sweeper) I have in my car, over the smaller one in the car now. I was gona help put it in, but had a change of mind… more like reality check. The car with that cam and the fast 92/92 (notice it’s snky :)) On what it would be making for power, and the weight of the car would be stupid :mamoru:
Thouse dyno numbers were with stock TB before I ported it, and a LS6 intake still.
