Thoughts/Suggestions/help on this new truck I bought

Once again apples and oranges. I’m not going to argue with you but plain and simple your information on this subject is wrong.

On a class D you can drive anything up to 26,000lbs and tow anything up to 10,000lbs providing the weight of trailer and tow vehicle don’t exceed 26,000lbs. Over that you need a CDL.

^correct

Any two or three car trailer would be greater then 10,000 GVW. So he would need a Class A truck trailer license.

Yup unless he’s towing smart cars with a carbon fiber trailer it’d need an A.

soo apparently i am the only one in the world that didnt know these 6.0’s were garbage and am having a hard time dumping this thing lol

anyone think this is a good trade… I know all diesel guys love cummins, but for resale/value purposes is this a good move or am I better off sticking it out with the way newer 6.0? this is a 2wd also.

Pretty sure the only exception to not needing class a is if your driving or pulling a camper…

Otherwise over weight and class like already mentioned. It doesn’t matter if he’s towing my cars, his cars, or your cars. Out of class all day long.

That just seems like another truck you would have a hard time getting rid of.

If the cummer is a 5spd then it would probably benefit you to swap the guy. Problem is that’s a dedicated tow rig so it’s limited market. However you could hypathetically trade vehicles then try and sell the cummer cheap to one of the local RV dealers since they have to go pickup campers out west.

Why wouldnt i just do that with the powerstroke ? Lol… And whats cheap, i know i can bring the 6.0 right back to the auction and get 4500 but i was hoping to make 1500-2k at least

In the 1 picture you posted it didn’t look like there was a 5th wheel or gooseneck on the powerchoke. If your into the truck that cheap I would trade for the dodge. 6.0 powerjokes are always hard to sell especially with high milage, because they are piles of junk. The other side of the coin is clean 12 valve cummins are actually sought after.

what do you think that cummins is worth on craigslist? considering it has no bed…

If it’s in good mechanical shape then I would think you could probably get 6-7k on a bad day. Hard to say without more pictures, but from the 3 pictures you posted it looks clean.
