Thoughts/Suggestions/help on this new truck I bought

:rofl have fun when you get boned in the ass by DOT

I think u only need it if your getting paid in one way or another. If its for personal use u dont. You can drive a rig as long as its your personal vehical and you dont have a trl hooked

um he plans on using it for his used car business, therefore needs DOT numbers and a CDL

Sell it and make some cash. Buy an older 7.3 or a newer 6.7

They also have to prove hes doing for a business he buys the cars there his personal cars.
If he transports them to a person who just bought it they would have.to prove hes getting paid for it

I think that’s why a lot of personal haulers have NOT FOR HIRE on them

Regaurdless im just fuckin around, id be buying the trailer but my partner whos experienced would be driving it… I was sketched out of my mind the first time i even drove my single car trailer home lol fuck a 3 car…

Lmao hook up to a 53ft with a peterbuilt

even a 2 car would work…id LOVE to buy a 2 car flatbed tow truck , but itd have to be a conversion truck like an f350 or my f550 secretly converted to a tow truck… I heard tow truck car insurance is out of this wooorrlldddd, even for not for hires.

U need insurance for the truck and for the payload. u pull a 50k car that has no damage then u roll the truck over u need to cover that car

yea but a reg car trailer isnt like that right? I never even reg’d mine lol, but the way I was told it worked is the trailer goes on the insurance of the vehicle towing it.

I know you’re waiting for someone to come in here and tell you that 6.0s just have a bad rap etc etc. They are not great motors, but for what you’re doing it’ll probably be fine. I like that it’s got the 6 speed, they are a fucking great bulletproof tranny. Like someone else said, the major shit’s most likely been done already.

I’m looking for an 07 F550 4x4 with as many options as i can get preferably with some type of flat bed and a blown motor. I’d prefer stick but it doesn’t really matter…

I’d also be interested in an 07 F450 4x4 with a regular truck bed, same deal blown motor etc etc

Right so when the guy who owns a used car dealer is driving a truck and trailer combo with 2 or 3 unregistered vehicles on it with no plates on it the DOT officer won’t put 2 and 2 together?

Yes guys that set up legit racing support rigs ins 18 wheelers can get an exemption to drive the truck. However if Dave were to use the truck to haul cars for his business he still would need a CDL.

You’ve got a pretty good head start.

If dave buys 3 cars from a auction and tows them back there is nothing illegal about it they are his personal vehicals at that point. Dot can assume anything they want. Untill they can prove it theres nothing they can do

Doesn’t matter he would still be out of class and get hit with huge fines and possibly get the truck and trailer tagged out of service. But hey what do i know not like i have a cdl or spent time working for a heavy tow company that delt with dot everyday.

Its not like i work for a billion dollar trucking company and know multiple pppl that have went to dot classes… its not worth arguing dave obv doesnt give a fuck. If thay was the case troopers woild set up outside of every dirt track and hand out tickets but its not

I see truckers always pulled over in guptils parking lot when I go on test drives getting truck inspections

once you “bulletproof” them they really arent bad. HG’s, head studs, egr cooler, oil cooler, and even a coolant filter… its the sand from the block casting what gums up the oil coolers… after that its like a down hill spiral, thats why they get such a bad wrap. i was close to buying one last year. 06 f350 with 200k for 3k. did alot of research on them but decided not to buy it

Sell it on e-bay, use profit to buy a diesel F250/2500/something thats not a POS
