the actual assembly isnt what has me worried. Thats the easy part. Im just worried about the compatibility of all the parts I order and the actual set-up once its together.
i dunno, this is pretty temptingā¦

Celeron = poop.
I got a brand new Dimension 3000 from Dell w/ 48x CD-RW, 40GB HDD, 512 DDR RAM, 2.8 Ghz @ 400 MHz, XP Pro for $558 shipped. Runs great for being a shitty little computer, Iāve got a bunch of resource intensive shit on it.
personally iād take a decent AMD over a celeron.
Dell has tons of cheap dealsā¦ keep checking www.slickdeals.net they always have a lot of good deals on there for desktops & laptops

sony outlet has decent prices too, but if you need a monitor youāll go over $800 getting everything there.
i agree AMD > *
the solution would of been to not make a thread and im me or whitey :kekegay:
P4 hyperthreading > *
Me: I need a decent cheap little computer
Sonny and Whitey: You must get the ultramega8000 chip with supergobble transfluxers that throttle up to 1098 kilojoules when coupled with the new Omegatron motherboard that can handle 980GB/s when used with a SCIS ITF PRRDB GDL SYSPO transducer.
Me: ok how much is that
Them: $11ty Billion dollars

Subtract $50 if you only want 256 RAM. I added you a Floppy drive ($30) and a CD-RW (instead of just CD-ROM, which was $50 more). I donāt know if you have memory keys or something else. XP Pro is + $79. Have a monitor? Subtract $100.
dude whatever you do donāt buy it from Tiger direct. weāve had a couple issues with them here at work and my friend bought a computer from them, it wasnāt working (hey shit happens with refurbs) and they took over a month to refund his $1000 after he had already sent back the computer. they really stressed him out over his money.
ive had this Dell for like 7 years. Granted it was like $1800 and was the fastest on the market when it was new, but its been a hunk of shit by mosts standards for at least the last 3 years. The only reason im really replacing it is because it needs a fresh windows install, and it doesnt make sense to spend $150 on XP Pro when for $200 more I can get a brand new computer thats 5x as fast and is brand new and comes with XP. I just cant justify dropping a grand on a computer. that $600-700 saved can go towards paying off the car which is one step closer to getting a 300ZX.
that sounds like a good setup, but check out this from slickdealsā¦ if I didnt have to pay the rent tomorrow Iād be all over that. $100 cheaper than the one in your quote with a faster chip, a DVD burner, a 19" LCD and 5.1 audio. That sounds like a hell of a deal.

Yeah, thatās not bad at all. I bought my Dell Dimension 8300 for $1,100 a year and a half ago. Itās great and still going good too (except when Mike clicks on stuff online and gets a virus and he has to back-date the thing to the day beforeā¦ anyone know where I can get a copy of Windows Firewall, or download SP2?)
Edit: Make sure you can get Small Business pricing though.
i guess my 400 dollar top of the line computer is not reliable and good enough since Dell is not stamped on the front of it!
I didnāt see anywhere in here where you offered him a $400 computerā¦
But I would definetly trust Whiteyās stuff!
spill the beans sukka.
whoa whoaā¦ i am saying i built my computer for 400 dollarsā¦ bargain pricing baby.
but yeah i could build you a new computer for a decent price. if i get some time today i will spec one out for youā¦
i have a 1.0gig 256 with onboard vid / nic /usb + serial and pci sound card.
