unfortunately summit sent me a wrong wheel, so that set me back a few days. ill have the other one on weds. a friend over at Phil’s Auto on clinton did my fronts and the guys at Swerve did my rear(s). couldn’t be happier with these rims (well, deep dish would be cool but im not spending on a shortened rear anytime soon)… they are real nice.
phone pics for now. once i get the last wheel on and clean the car (it’s filthy), ill get some good pics.
I like those. how heavy is that DR? looks like a 40-50# rear setup. Get the tape measure out and lengthen the LCA to center the reared, and hopfully its nice weds.
ya i def need to center it. im at my desk now but im going to bring the shipping scale with me when i walk back. they might be 5-7# lighter than the streets, but the radials aren’t light. i know the rear rims are 16#ea.
no, they won’t hit the quarter. i need to move the rear back about 1/4" (probably don’t have to), but there is no sense touching it until i have both on. i actually wouldn’t be apposed to putting a 29" in there, but unfortunately the next size up is 30". i’m happy with them though, hopefully they help me out.
chook needs to join me at the track. actually, for some weird reason chucks car on 18’s hooks pretty decent on the street. obviously he can’t whack it 100% the whole time, but still
yes they are a bit heavier than i hoped for, but i think they still may be about 5# lighter each. maybe more. ill scale them tonight. they should def help though; if they don’t i’ll go with a slick next time around.
I was playing with the tire pressure on mine this weekend on the street. I have the MT DR 275-60-15’s. Just rolling around on the street with 20psi, the car would just fry 1st and 2nd. Brought them down to about 14psi and they stuck on spray out of the hole. Great race between me and a 52 gasser with a big block and spray( Got him by 2). I was always a huge beliver in BFG DR but I’m starting to like the the MT DR’s. Setup looks great!
the guys at Swerve hooked me up on the mounting machine real quick during lunch. put it on the balancer and the wheel is all wooooobbbllyyyy woobles. FUCK
i was surprised at how heavy my Mickey DR are too. My 245/45/17 Goodyears on 17 stock wheels are 4 lbs lighter than my 255/50/16 Mickey DR on stock 16s. i like running my Mickeys at 17-18 on the street and 14-15 at the track
well, the 3rd wheel showed up. finally i got a NEW UNTOUCHED wheel. hopefully they threw me a figgen bone this time. will be going back over to swerve during lunch or after work where they have been very patient with me
