First International meet for 6crews.com, mazda 6’s at niagara falls. stated below.
Okay everybody…here it is!
I will be hosting the 1st International Meet on behalf of the 6crew community. In addition, I will be extending the invitation to the Toronto Mazda6 forum with the hopes to get a bunch of those guys out as well.
The official location has been set as NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO, CANADA. Not only are the falls absolutely beautiful, there is an almost unimaginable number of things to do (clubs/bars, casino, haunted houses, amusement rides, restaurants galore, novelty shops, adult entertainment, movie theaters, animal kingdoms, museums [ripley’s believe it or not, wax museum], bowling and other entertainment, etc.), which all happen to be within walking distance of the falls. For those that have been, it’s a truly breathtaking experience and for those who haven’t…well…why the heck haven’t you been yet!!!
No date has officially been set. However, I am proposing that the meet be held either this fall or spring of 2010 in hopes to avoid the dreaded months that make up the Canadian winter. I have arbitrarily selected dates from within this time period and included them in the poll at the top of the page. EVERYBODY WHO WANTS TO ATTEND NEEDS TO VOTE! Those that complain about the selected date and who haven’t voted will be given no simpathy. This poll will be kept open for 1 week so that I can select a date asap. That way, if the meet ends up happening this fall adequate time for planning and preparation can still be allotted.
The following few posts will be reserved for hotel information, entertainment plans, an attendee list, a t-shirt list and a recent updates post.
Please keep in mind that since June 1st, 2009 a passport is required to cross the border. If you do not yet have one (or it has expired), you will need to remedy this situation asap.

update to this, right now, it looks like the meet will be held on the last week of september first week of october of this year. (2009)
anyone interested in the hike part of the meet you can go to this link. we will be having a slow hike through the gorge to show everyone a more enjoyable time of the falls and there beauty.
If your planning on seeing the falls or spending the day looking at the falls from above, i suggest to look at them from straight on and also view all the rapids that are created from where the falls use to be.
I am planning to spend most of the day down there depending on how everyone else feels about it.
Things you will want to bring:
-food for snacks and lunch
-drinks (anything from beer to pop to water)
-camera and photo gear
-toilet paper for dropping a duce in the woods. (yes i have had to do this before, no one will feel comfy having to climb an x amount of stairs when they need to shit) lol
-anything else you would like on a hike.
depending on the weekend of the meet, will depend on the days we will set this up for.
skurge will also be attending this hike unless something comes up.

I nor anyone you are going with, will be a certified guide for niagara falls. so this will be a hike at your own risk. I nor anyone else will take the fall for if anything happens. please be aware, you need to be careful at all times and watching where you are stepping, there are several places that you are right on the edge of the water and can slip in. so please be aware, I nor anyone else you are going with are certified for being a guide at niagara falls.
i dont see why not, its a mazda 6 forum that is getting this together, but im sure all mazdas are welcome. we will probably be meeting up at one of the rest stops on the 90 before the transit exit, then everyone that is meeting up there will continue there drive to the falls.

The following schedule is open to serious debate and I am all for changing things around as people see fit!
POST UP WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO IN BETWEEN OR INSTEAD OF WHAT IS LISTED BELOW.
Friday (night)
5 - 6pm –> Check in at hotel
6 - 6:30pm –> 6crew Meet and Greet at the Inn by The Falls
7pm –> Dinner (at a restaurant of choice…I’d suggest Kelsey’s or Boston Pizza)
9pm –> Walk down to the Falls/explore the area/take in all of the beauty/take a ride on the giant ferris wheel
Saturday
10am –> Breakfast at Denny’s/another suitable restaurant
~11:30am - 5pm –> Hit Clifton Hills for an afternoon of entertainment; haunted houses, wax museums, chocolate/fugdge factories, ripley’s museum and 3D motion rides, dinosaur 4D ride, etc. (I can’t possibly list them all)
10am –> Breakfast at Denny’s/another suitable restaurant
All day (~11am - mid afternoon) –> Yamba6’s hike through Niagara Falls Gorge!
Note: For those who are not going on the hike, there are plenty of attractions to fill your time!
End of meet (whatever time people need to leave to get home)
sorry to keep bumping this but this is getting down to the wire, meet is this weekend, canaduh side of the falls. friday which people will start meeting up around 5-7pm. then out to get some food and hit up the bar. then meet Saturday for the cars. and other fun activities.
today is the day, getting out of work at 3:30 and heading to the border, anyone that wants to check this meet out, the main part of the meet will be tomorrow, but if you wanna come join us at the bars tonight in niagara falls, come on over.
hope to see some of you guys, mazda or not! i knew there is at least one guy coming from here with a ms6! cant wait.
