I think its funny that the kid who put stick-on fake carbon fiber panel things on his b-pillars told you to quit ricing out your car.
do it looks bada$$
I don’t care what you say in terms of doing it for function, you are doing it for fucking rice-a-roni. You hardly need that cruising the blvd. and going to work. You don’t need it going 120MPH on the thruway on your way to pick up underage hoes in Blo either. The chops look fucking retarded, mostly because they suck. The exige looks badass because it’s a race car, and it should have the wing. I doesn’t matter that something is functional on a race car, it doesn’t mean it’s functional or has any place on your car. There are plenty of Loti (plural of Lotus?) running lots of track miles without it.
You can do it if you think it looks cool, but don’t try and play off your rice for some other reason.

i agree with walter
world ending?
lol. ok. first off, no shit the chops suck, they took less than 2 minutes a piece.
second, alot of people have noticed a good deal of handling improvements over on the lotus forums. the exige comes stock with a wing. it is really no more a “race car” than the elise, it is essentially an aerodynamically (among other things) improved elise and intended for the same purpose. In order to be properly balanced, the car will need an exige style front splitter, which i would have to buy.
:mamoru:
That’s not a stock exige.
But anyway.
I’ll wait until you complete your first track weekend before I ask you how the car handles. Your opinion is about as valid as mine at this point.
i agree with walter… drive it hard before doing anything drastic :snky:
It’s on ebay… Buy it quick they are going like hot cakes…
i know it isn’t a stock exige. here is an oem wing:
aren’t these the same people who talked for 17 pages about how the plane wouldn’t take off?
And laminar pressure sensors? Its called a fucking U tube menometer, look into it. And a little OT, it’s cool that its a CF wing and has a ground effect S shape aerofoil, but, why aren’t you trying to hang it further off the back, and if the wing has to be carbon because Al is too heavy, why the fuck would you use Al brackets with heim joints? Go carbon there too.
You will never benefit from either of these things on the street, you can tell us how idiotic you drive on the street, and how you think it will help you cruise the 990, or take exits but its all BS. You want it for the look, end of story.
The exige you posted is obviously used as a trackcar… well unless the owner likes blowing money by driving on the street with slicks.
You have stated yourself that you will not run trackdays, autocrosses, races, etc, so what effect would this wing have on anything?
I am perfectly fine with the wing… i think its ricey, but its your car. Just don’t BS by saying its for function.
i don’t have the resources to make carbon brackets, any elise wing runs upwards of 900 dollars, i have access to this CF wing for a fraction of that. if i put it low, i am going to have to hang it out back a bit more.
Not stock, as in that is a race car (the first car you posted) THe huge widebody sort of gives it away, in addition to the fuel filler, tires, exhaust, etc…
I dont like the way the OEM wings look. It looks so cheap. Deffinitely do the GT wing and just mount it lower.
I like the black elise, i had my car set up the same way on need for speed most wanted. I like it when the wing is low.
Please dont do it newman.
i think in your chops its too angled and too high from the car, make it fit the lines better and not so steep
Silly.
i heart people that compare real life to video games, they make me lol
on just a slightly o/t note, you should yank the mesh section out from the rear underside of the car. I couldn’t take my eyes away from the exposed mechanicals in that pic you posted long enough to look at where the spoiler is/was. that’s hot.
