Top Gear USA coming to The History Channel

Yup, third time’s the, uh, charm?

As we reported first earlier this year, Top Gear USA, the twice aborted attempt at colonization by the famous BBC franchise, will hit the History Channel this fall. Here are the three hosts.

Adam Ferrara: Comedian and co-star of the FX drama “Rescue Me.” His affiliation with cars is unknown. Clearly a stand-in for Adam Carolla.
Tanner Foust: Would-be host of a previous iteration of the show as well as a professional racer, stunt driver, and host of SuperCars Exposed on SPEED.
Rutledge Wood An analyst for SPEED on numerous shows, particularly focused on NASCAR.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, History committed to 10 episodes and will “stay true to the original format and add a sense of the American car culture.”

People who are going to watch Top Gear on the History Channel, are probably already fans of the show. This means that they are used to the great production and camaraderie that we get from Jeremy, James, and Richard. I can almost guarantee there will be none of that in this new show. This show will not have the heart and soul of the BBC version.

Here’s an idea, how about the History Channel just sign an agreement with the BBC to air the real show?

Ttanner Foust is horrible on TV. He did some stupid super car show that SUCKED. Drifted a ferrari on a closed street quite nicely though.

At best, this will be an occasionally entertaining rip off of the BBC original. I expect it to be much, much worse than that, however. Tanner Foust being the only host i’ve ever heard of is not a good start, considering how god awful he was on “SuperCars Exposed” on Speed.

They legally can’t play the original episodes. Some content and all music MUST be edited, and then it must be edited for time.

I agree it will suck. Foust sucks as a host, the other guy is a nascar commentator, and the only thing I can find out about the last guy is that he’s been on opie and anthony. It’s guaranteed to be lame especially once sponsors get involved.

I’m also kinda worried about sponsorships getting in the show. I know this isn’t going to be good, let alone come close to honoring the honesty that Top Gear is known to have. I just ask History give the full reigns to the production team and hosts, and air what they get given.

Lord knows that will never happen, though…

honestly the only reason i like top gear is because of their accent and the rediculous things they say and do lol
even if it had nothing to do with cars i would still find it very enjoyable
