looking for about 3 or 4 cu yards of top soil and maybe the same amount of mulch. anyone have a hook up or somewhere to go for a good price?
Bagged top-soil is $1.99 a bag for the Scotts stuff at Lowes, we also have black Preen mulch (it’s mulch that has Preen soaked into it to prevent weeds) as well, stuff works pretty damn good.
well how much is in a bag? like 1 cu ft? i would need like 36 bags. that is why i want a delivered load.
I know the Town of Amherst sells mulch. I got a pickup truck full last year for $20.00.
do i have to be a resident? i live in cheek.
wish that was closer. that’s a great price and I could use some
Is the amherst stuff any good for use on kids swingset areas?
Bags save you a TON of time(and mess) but if your time is not of great value buy bulk and grab a shovel.
I’ve never used it, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that was what they were using at the playground at ClearField Park since it’s wood mulch and I know Amherst maintains the park.
that preen mulch soundsgreat.Have to look into it. When you buy mulch from a town does anyone know if they have different colors?
Amherst just has “wood” color. They don’t do anything to dye it special colors, which is why I still get the red mulch for my house from Home Depot.
Just and FYI, but open lot top soil is usually packed full of seed and pollen, so if you’re looking for clean top soil, bag is the way to go.
Also yeah, the bags aren’t going to yield much per bag but the overall quality is going to be better.
I got a delivery yesterday from http://www.leobrenontopsoil.com
It was incredibly overpriced from the general price shopping I did online, but I couldn’t find any other place that had good quality, filtered topsoil this early in the year. I got the garden mix which has fertilizer, etc all mixed in. It was only $3 more per cubic yard. I’d say it was pretty good dirt.
Still seemed a lot cheaper than bags.
That’s where I get mine. They have pricing (delivered & pickup) on their website.
