I looked into this in the past and capital one venture had tons of good reviews. My wife used a southwest credit card when she was traveling. We got free flights constantly. Going to Denver in February for free on them actually.
Frankly id rather just have free flights than first class/special security/waived bags.
Delta is still the suck for free flights. Anywhere I want to go is always HIGH. Fuck you, I don’t want to use 80,000 skypesos for a domestic round trip.
I hate those rooms, free beer is not really enough of a perk since you can just use your Corp card at any hotel bar and not have to sit with the most miserable people I have ever come across.
Take a look around next time you go in one, its a bunch of miserable fucks who travel too much for work and have shitty family/social lives. So happy my travel is almost nothing, hated work travel 99% of the time
anyone know of which carriers have the best international rewards? i have a few trips to korea and honduras in my near future…delta might be the only one that flies to both with any consistency
I fly southwest when I can. Field work means your trip schedule changes all the time so their business select tickets make changing at the last minute easy. Yesterday for example I changed from the 9:30pm flight to the 6:45 out of MDW at 2pm online in 30 seconds with no fee. Plus open seating with the business select guarantees a wide open bin and an aisle seat at the front of the cabin, and a free drink. The fly-by security lane at major airports is awesome too. Might not make for the best rewards, but it makes the travel better than any other airline.
I usually stay at Holiday Inn’s or Hamptons, but I’ve got a ton of points from whoever comfort suites is with because they were right outside a couple of bars at a major project I spent 6 weeks at this past spring.
I don’t fly enough to get platinum-elite-you-never-see-your-family status, so I just book whatever is going to make that particular trip the least shitty.
The Canadian guy I was working with switched to my hotel after the first week of that trip so he didn’t have to cross the street from the bar to his original hotel. We don’t fuck around.
He was the PLC programmer on this job, which is what I used to do for years. So of course the one night we had the server girl working a raid0 array or beer mugs so we could drink as much as possible before happy hour ended 45 minutes after we got back from the plant. We were drinking from 2 while she was refilling the other 2. He kept the receipt as a souvenier. 13 yeunglings and a dozen raw oysters between the two of us.
I got stuck in a couple dry towns in the midwest :bloated:
We ended up using distance for starbucks to figure out how in the middle of no where we were
There are some really really really shitty towns in Missouri towns with 1 or 2 restaurants(if you can even call them that) and one hotel within 150 miles.
